Here's a problem I'll be facing shortly: how to ship components (processors and motherboards) without having the original boxes? I'm looking to ship an Athlon X2 6000+, its heatsink, an ATX motherboard, and also a Core 2 Duo E8200--but haven't yet done so because I don't have the original packing materials. Any fool-proof way to get it there safely? I'm especially concerned about the AMD processor--with its fragile pins and all.

You can use some foam for that.

If you have any of those anti-static bags:

Put the CPU in it and then wrap those bubbles around it.

Or the foam as mentioned above.

And if you haven't any of the above, -but a antistatic bag- use loads of toilet/kitchen paper and wrap layers around it? :D

Meh. Very messy jobs it seems. I'll probably see about the bazillion box sizes at my local UPS Store. I'm still concerned about shipping the AMD processor.
