Hey all,

Long story short, block was bought from a shop as a 'Kryos XT' and block in the middle is what arrived:

Left is a stock XT, right is a stock HF.

I've never heard of a nickel HF, bare in mind this is not a custom plating job done by an end user, it arrived like this from a shop in australia, which does not provide a plating service of any sort.

What on earth

They changed the distance last year so that all of the blocks are now 23.75, HF variant.

But wasn't the revised XT revision still under the XT name?

And furthermore, was the HF actually ever officially released in nickel?

Base is copper, am well aware of the silver XT.

This is not an XT.

I don't care about whether its rare or not, i just want to know where it came from.

It wouldn't be this one : http://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=2504 ? Color looks a bit same.

Where did they come from?
Sven passed them out to people to review and get feedback from.
Then it turned into the XT.

What would you like to know about it?
Vapor, Bundya, and I have it.

The XT is highly recommended, because u dont run into this with the XT:

If you have a larger gap in the middle, its an XT, and not an original.
AS i said the original has a very very tight gap.

I think I have never seen so much wrong information in one single thread :D

There is no original, nickel HF or whatever variant! Production of ALL kryos Delrin, Pro and XT started with a distance of 20,5 mm. After some complaints about the small distance and requests for a pure copper variant we came up with the HF as a new kryos variant. When the first series of Pro and XT was sold, they also got the larger distance of 23,75 mm for the next production run which is many months ago now. Only the Delrin variant still has the smaller distance due to reasons of economy.

So when buying a kryos Pro or XT these days it is almost impossible to get one from the initial series unless it was lying around in stock for a very very long time ;)

Yeh, mine says in small print "high flow" on the top of the block, so it was a high flow, Kryos XT with a nickel plated top, and copper baseplate. Little Man is wondering where it was first purchased from, and I got mine second hand from a friend, who I believe bought it from either direct from aquacomputer.de or a-cshop.de and had it shipped to australia.

No.

The one im looking at (which happens to be zeropluszero's) has high flow written under it, yours does not.

Hi shoggy, appreciate the reply.

Doesn't look like this one falls into any of those categories, seeing as theres no mention of a HF nickel revision anywhere (not the .925 version).

I understand all the current blocks have the revised length between in/outs, but this one explicitly says High Flow, but it nickel plated from stock, hence my question.

So you have never ever maded a Nickel HF ever?

Where should be the difference here? The XT (nickel) and HF (copper) have the same distance ;)

I hate to be negative, but this pic has no place in an Aqua thread!

But im not talking about the length, look at colour. All HF's are copper, so how is this HF nickel from stock.

I think they put that High Flow text on all blocks with new port layout, at least this XT seems to have it : http://www.pureoverclock.com/article1277.html
