I had a little misshap that left my NF7-S dead along with a 9800XT and now I will be purchasing a A64 MB along with a 3400. I was fallowing the AN50R and there seems to be a lot of good OC's with this board but it seems to be killing cpu's with the ability to mod the mem with the 5v line.

So wich one should I go for AN50R or the K8N? Any problems mounting the promi head to eather one of these boards? Pro's and cons of the 2, please.

Thanx

lol.

'i just killed 650 dollars of parts.. i'm going out to buy more.' gotta love XS.

i have the AN50R and its a great board. layout is good. no memory/agp lineup problems or other things. bios is good once you flash it to the latest version. its a good overclocker as well. apparently this is a very easy board to mod for voltage as well. since you will be using exotic cooling i'm sure you'll be doing that. i don't know alot about the K8N cause i didn't buy one but i do know that its a really stripped down version of the $180 gigabyte. missing several things onboard including firewire which i needed.

I can vouch straight away for the AN50R as I have one with the vDimm mod done which allows me to run 255MHz FSB at 1:1 using 11,2,2,2 timings on me BH-5 ram..... buy it now... u wont regret it

I definitely recommend the Shuttle:

1. has a better memory compatibility (I had memory problems with my PC2700 on my K8N pro)

2. The vdimm is fed by the 5v rail, not the 3.3v.
Gives a higher Voltages with mod and you don't have to mod your 3.3v rail to get higher vdimm.

3. Onboard power/reset button and HDD-led

Shuttle is giving me memory troubles

the KHX3200 non A is great, but out of stock here :(

KHX3500 original BH5 wont run stabily with it @ CAS2, and same with my XMS3500 :(

Indeed, I have KHX3000 BH-5 and they do 270MHz with 3.39v. :D
My Infineon PC2700 USA on my shuttle is also ok, runs 510Mhz 5/2/2/2 with 3.4v
