Well I got me a 2.26B chip and its pretty nice. I was able to bench at 3.23ghz with chilled water and a pelt. The water was warming up to quick though. Anyway card was at 330/756 just for testing. Tomorrow I'm gonna put my pelt on this card and I know for sure it will do 367/769 but with chilled water it might go higher.

I wanna bust 15.5K. Anyone know of any good tips for tweaking win XP?

very nice there chong!! I've been upset by fedex to much to care about this first i get my Kx7-333r from newegg but they sent my pc3200c2 ram to the wrong place so while I waited i sent the kx7 back for a AT7. well its been 2 weeks and the mobo is still at the fedex station so Ive been using this max 148mhz fsb gigabyte crap mobo. My good news Is a stable air overclock on my ti4600 of 369/787.. with volt/mod's of course.. Im sure I could come close to 15k with my abit and ram and these new 40.41's but Im about to throw in the towel.. enough about me Im locked to window2000 as xp had to many issues and kills my scores so all I can say is throwin 2000 while you bench... Good luck on 16k yeah you'll get it.....

My compare below shows my mad fillrates and 100fps on nature witch on air is my true accomplishment to date :)

Congrats dood..long time no see...:)

I was using a 2.26 @ 3020 using 178 1:1 @ 2-2-2-6 and a Ti4200 clocked at 333/660 and I got ~50 points more?

Dont get me wrong though, I dont mean any disrespect and not to take away a great score buddy...:)

Congrats to you Chong!

/me thinks FUGGER can help you squeeze some more out of that system....... :)

I'm thinking that I need some software optimizations. That is the main issue. So far I have only been doing hardware and figuring out my limits so I know what my settings will be for the big run. Then I need the software tweaking. Hopefully I'll make it. We'll see though. Does the latest rivatuner work with the new dets?

And thanks for the comments guys. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Ya man Im using Rivatuner RC11.2 I think and its working fine for me that I can see, both ocing and other enhancements :)

If your not using the new 40.41 drivers for that score then disregard everything I said cos I thought you were.....:)

Bench on Sucka :D

My suggestions helped? I see you are well into 16k now

Geez, what kinda tweaks did ya pull there Chong? I notice you've got close to a 1500 point jump from your original posted score in this thread and it looks like hardware wise you're running at the same speeds as before.

It's the same hardware but the card has seen some serious overclocking. I'd hazard that it is at least 360/760.

Nice score.

Nice score.

Hm well that would explain it. I figured that Chong's original score in this thread was @ the same speed as his new one. Guess I've got to learn to read more carefully.

Either way, congrats :).

He's not the only one. You're closing in on 18k. Very nice indeed. I hope to have my R9700 in the next few days.

Fugger, I notice that MO still havn't raised the 20k barrier. Have you contacted them?

And Thanx :)

Yea, Im having to keep on the move, Ctgilles and Highwayman are creeping up on me.

Making a new shim and I should be able to pop 18k.

Huge market for ATI core shims!

No, I checked today and they still have not fixed it.

Ok yes I topped out at 16522. Thanks for the help FUGGER. The only thing I did differently was the OCing on the vid card and help from FUGGER. I was benching at 371/783 with the vmods. I couldn't go much higher on the card cause my scores would actually decrease or I would have this issue where the screen would look like it froze (hard lock) but then it would resume but the scores sucked. Sounds like the same thing MrIcee ran into in the other thread about the new drivers. Another issue is that I don't get much time to tweak cause the water temps keep on rising. I was using bags of ice and just dumping it into the res. The water temps were at about .6C to 1C. This is with fresh ice. But obviously I couldn't keep it up all night. So I'll bench some later today. Oh my R9700 should be in next week and hopefully a Lauda Immersion Chiller.

Thanks guys! :D

Thanks guys! :D

Ive stated this in 3 different threads also that I get the same problems...;)

So do we all just have to wait for new drivers? What about Kamu? How did he get around this?

Creative

Mr Icee was saying to just forget these drivers but that was for AMD only I think? Also he says that they cpu speed scale the core too, like a higher mhz will get better scores with these drivers.....I feel really really cheated by Nvidia this time :(

9700 on Thursday...ahh 53 hours and counting :D
hehehe

My thoughts are that the worst problems with stability are with AMD with these 40.41's. I have run 4 successful benches in 3 days...the other 100 tries were screwed. Freeze and release is just one problem...but general instabilities, constant blue screens attributed to the Nv driver...and now the OS with hal.dll. I also believe they have been optimized for Intels SSE2....I am making a tall statement I know...but look at the results. I posted this in the Dets thread :

For all the AMD guys out there...don't frustrate yourselves further with fixes and adjustments and this and that...it's fruitless...its the damn drivers causing all the probs and nothing else. I refuse to keep making changes and fix this file and downclock this and that to run them..its ridiculous. Wait for a better set of Dets with fixes or wait and get the 9700 Pro.

Heres another bone for you all. I have found after benching at 1000mhz(5x199), 1600,1700 and 2055Mhz...that one of the reasons that the 3 Ghz plus Intels are realizing much higher score gains...is that these 40.41's seem to scale in score increase with Mhz. At 1000...I actually scored a few points less than with the 29.40's..thats with full bench clocks etc. As I scale up the increase goes from 500, 600 to 700(closer to 800). I realize my last 29.40 score was 15,397 vs. my current 15,992...but that was done at 2094 vs.2054. My previous 2054 score was 15,202....hence my 700(almost 800) point comparison. I venture to guess with another 100 Mhz it might be a 1000 point increase or more.

Another note is that the 40.41's seem to realize the same increase for Intel and AMD in Dragon and Nature depending on card clocks...but the Intels grab higher scores in Car and Lobby with these drivers where AMD takes a slight loss, they seem dependent on total CPU Mhz rather than just FSB speed for the gains to be realized over previous drivers. That about sums up my thoughts for the day

I wrote that after switching back to evaluate the 30.30 Dets....which BTW took my system back to full stability with NO blue screens or freezes. I have just been advised of a possible fix that I'm going to try...I'll be posting my results in the Dets thread tomorrow. If some new 40 series Dets don't come out before I get my 9700 Pro..so be it...I've wasted far too much time trying to fix things these 40.41's caused...only to smarten up and remove them and get back to normal:)

All in all you still have a kickass score MrIcee. :D

I need to get like 100 more points so I can make top 10. I haven't benched with my AMD rig in awhile but with all this talk about all these problems with the drivers, it makes me nervous

Oh well 9700 is on the way.

makes you nervous chong them drivers got me a new AMD high score but wrecked the system it needs a reinstall but was hoping there would be some fix but it turns out not to be as yet so i went to play with the intel ......... you did very well on em i see a BIG congrats

Chong345
09-02-2002, 08:19 PM
Thanks majormav. I will just stick to the intel for now I guess. I miss my AMD rig though. Besides, I'm losing my spots in the AMD categories.

Well hopefully the new tbreds will be out sooner than later.

Thanks Chong:)

I am frustrated but hey..I do have the highest scoring AMD system in the world:toast: I just know theres more there if the drivers were ok....I think mid 16,000's is not out of the question...if I can run at my normal bench speeds:)
