i'm looking for a cheaper raid card for four OCZ SOLID 3 disks. im a total idtiot when it comes to this part of pc hardware so pls just post few examples.
budget from 200$ to 300$. yes wide, but im looking for a cheaper solution for home workstation usage, and also dont have a clue how much is cheap and worth for raid cards. however i think that those uber fast things will require ram onboard the raid card, more then anything else before. so when i will have to buy something for 500$ and more, well, i will pass.

only pci-e 2.0, dont want to bottleneck anything (it will be plugged to 16x@4x on x58 board)

the only thing that i have found is LSI product, LSI00191. but no SSD support :/.

If you only have $200 to spend, I would just use onboard raid. The good cards are $500+.

The LSI 9211 is a decent controller for SSD's.
Just dont expect it to perform better than the ICH, it doesn't.

Latency is great but throughput is limited at small and large blocksizes. (it peaks at 64-256KB)

just as i thought. no onboard ram for cache will kill this raid. heh.
