I've got just around $350 to spend on a computer monitor. Now my normal preference is newegg, ship it to the workshop in PA, no tax, nice stuff.

High resolution, and I see 24" and 27"ers.

But to be honest, I don't know a damn bit of difference between most other than a fixed pedastel would suck

So whats the XS recommendation?

Best suggestion gets a cookie? Or a hug?

My pref is a 1920 X 1200 (NOt a 1080P which is 1920 X 1080) as the 1080P's are just overly narrow although they are cheaper. I also do not like reflective glossy screens.

Like the Dell U-series (but above 350$).
Or the HP ZR-series, donno if those are around that price.

CNET (http://reviews.cnet.com/best-23-inch-lcd-monitors/?tag=centerColumnArea1.0;buyAdvice) actually does a good job on telling you which monitors are good. Anything built in the last year is excellent.
