I thought this was really cool. Potential artificial robot muscles? SWEET. Can you guys think of any other uses for this stuff? I'm thinking muscles for artificial limbs when we can figure out how to micro size high voltage batteries and power sources.

Thats really cool!

A couple of years ago when I was thinking about what to do a project on for my electronics degree, I was drawing down some silly ideas of how to make crude artiftical muscles with rotating permanent magnets suspended in some kind of rubber. Where the magnets would be stacked +\-\+\-\+\- and could be rotated to either pull or push the magnets towards each other.

This does that, but in a much smarter package. Hope to see more of this, I bet we might just see like you mentioned artificial limbs from this.
