Has anyone here done a WC build using pipe with flare fittings? Are there any which are compatible with G 1/4 BSP?

You posted in the thread where that guy is using similar fittings so why don't you just PM him and ask.

The fittings used in that build are pipe compression fittings which are a bit different.

Be careful, flare and flange connections can leak if they get moved/bumped, etc. Speaking from many years supporting water bubblers when I was younger ;)

Those are pipe compression fittings, which are different from flare fittings. See this link (http://www.e-refrigeration.com/index.php?page=Flaring-fittings) for a little more info on what flare fittings are.
