Searched XS and found 1 thread on this topic, but the only person describing his experience said it leaked. I want a little more info on this res if it's worth it.

Anyone out there using one?

Here's a picture:

i was wondering the same thing. i used the similar res that fit on the 355 pump and it worked quite well. hopefully someone will chime in that has used it.

Thanks.

Yeah, I know there's a res top by XSPC for the MCP355, which looks nice!

I'd have gone in that direction, but I own the D5 pump already.

No personal experience, but I'd like to try one of those too. Looks like the old DDC flavor in D5 form and it's stand alone so you can decouple for good noise response.

I'm going to make an order tonight.

I think I'll take a chance and order this, some rotary fittings and a 1155 block.

I need to find the copper top Kryos as it looks so slick vs XT. I cannot find it anywhere. Sidewindercomputers only has the AM2/AM3 version. :cussing:

Edit:

FOUND ONE!!!!! HA!

My wallet doesn't like the cost, but whatever!

I have the model that encloses the pump so it can be mounted in 2 drive bays::

My D5 runs at setting 4 directly into an XSPC RS240 and then a Swiftech Apogee XT. So there is a lot of back pressure - enough to make the tygon feel like solid plastic when I was working out the air bubbles. Everything is connected using Bitspower premium fittings - not the stubbies - along with the black nylon reusable clamps. Everything from the pump to the fittings was mounted "finger tight" and then just another quarter turn ( or 1 more notch on the clamps ) with a wrench or screwdriver.

There hasn't been any leaks yet. And the Reservoir has rubber grommets where it mounts into the chassis, so there is almost no noise at all - which is very nice. The fill port on top is the same as the standalone version you are looking at, and it is really nice because it is about twice the size of the port on the last res I had, and it has a rubber seal so it doesn't leak either.

Overall I am -really- happy with it because saves space in the case by combining the pump top/mount with the bay mount reservoir. And, the acrylic is super glossy and clear, it looked so nice that I couldn't bear to put the faceplate on the front!

Synth, I wish you the best of luck with that res. Personally, I've seen far too many topics involving acrylic parts from XSPC having problems of some sort for me to ever trust any of them. I'll only use anything made from acetal (Delrin) or their rads.

Hey buddy.

The thread about the tank res has a lot of comments by you, and other users, depicting the exact same problem.

I'm trying to squeeze a D5 into an FT02, which is not easy considering I want a tight loop.

If I had my video cards under water, I could buy a koolance bay res and be done with it.

I didn't end up ordering it yet as Amazon gave me free slow shipping on the case, so I can sit back a little whlie longer and plan it.

Currently have one in my set up.

The first one i had did leak, but they were quick to send me a replacement and it has worked fine ever since. Overall i have been pleased with it. Since it is the lowest part of my look it makes draining my loop easy when need be.

How long have you had the replacement res?

I also have the Dualbay version and it's a PITA to bleed. Other than that solid.

I don't use this, but I do have a single bay XSPC res and it's solid after two years of use. Using the Panworld PX-40 (~480GPH) with the res and it has been holding up good, even with the water blasting through it with that pump. So from a construction stand point, personally I have had no issues with their single bay reservoir and a high power pump.
