Special thanks to Paul from XSPC for sponsoring this block!

This is the fourth block tested in my 2600K processor based testing round..:D

Conclusion

The XSPC Rasa CPU block is very impressive in all areas of performance and value. Not only does it match thermal performance of blocks costing much more, it does so without sacrificing quality and even exceeds quality in some areas. While it may not be as flashy in looks as some of the higher cost blocks, it’s an exceptional value with careful thought put into things like the backplate systems, the wide barb compatibility, the unique thumb-nut system, and optimal performance while keeping value in check. I also particularly like the careful balancing done here to minimize pressure drop, making this block an excellent candidate for multiple block installations.

Pros

Very good thermal performance (roughly ties for second place in the blocks tested so far)
Lower than average restriction means excellent compatibility in multiple block installations
Easy Mount Backplate reduces the # of small parts and significantly speeds up backplate installation
Quality full coverage backplates provide ample MB support and protection
Extreme Value – High End Performance + Complete Package + High Quality + Low Price
Two options: Chrome or Matte Black
Very complete package, everything except barbs & clamps
Wide barb spacing compatible with most G1/4 fittings

Cons

Acetal block top option only. Some users may prefer a metal plated top.
Mounting system has some loose small parts and not as easy to use as some other systems.

I have this block and I've found something odd. After mounting, I have these CPU shaped outlines around the base of the block. Any ideas?

I get a little marking like that on all the bare copper bases, especially if I'm being aggressive with the mounting pressure. You can start flatting the block bow if you use too much pressure which would make it put the edges of the IHS in contact.

It probably also depends on the IHS itself. My 2600K seems to be fairly convex vertically (Or with the ram slots) which seems to be a result of the aggressive 1155 socket retention. This convext IHS shape seems to lead to some marking at the top and bottom, but nothing along the sides.

Anyhow, if it's just some base scuffing, it's not big deal. You could also hand lap and remove any marks with the base removed if you want to clean it up. You might try slightly less mounting pressure too though.

I don't think its terrible looking to be honest, I like the simple black on black color setup. If I didn't already own an EK block I would probably pick up one of these after seeing the performance vs. price.

The spacing between the G1/4" spacing is really a nice touch, there aren't many blocks like this.

I do to, I've just heard some folks say they would like a plated metal top instead of acetal.

I like the stealthy all black look myself...it's a nice..

Martin I don't know if you have any of those EK spacers knocking around but if you use those instead of the nylon washers you get a couple degrees temp drop (and mounting is still just as easy). Those nylon washers destroy themselves after the first remount anyway giving you progressively worse temperatures. The EK spacers are totally consistent between mounts - comparable consistency to the Swiftech mount. It also has the added effect of completely hiding the springs when mounted - gives it a cool stealthed look.

I love this block - the only reason its not in my gaming pc is because you cant get one in Nickel to match the rest of my blocks. With the added mount pressure I find it beats my EK HF by 1c in realtemp (not a good measure I know but its repeatable).

Backplate for 1155/1156 is simply brilliant. I would recommend you just peel off a couple of the corners of the tape as thats enough to hold the plate yet keeps it easily removable. If you do the whole lot its never coming off .
