Someone's going to fall off his chair when he hears the price of the screen :D

That sucks though :(

move to a different part of town... they have routes setup and they are not going to change them for you unless you ask for early AM delivery

I would kill that UPS guy that's for sure :D Did you had some insurance? Are they covering all the damage. Because new panel for that screen is like $700 :(

The 'egg filed the claim with UPS; I just have to wait... and wait while they take their good sweet time. Apparently they send out someone to inspect the goods

Minimal damage, one of the edges is split open but it certianly didn't expect the monitor to be broken. The edges of the monitor also showed no damage but the shock traveled through the bezel and broke the monitor without leaving a mark on the bezel.

I don't do business with UPS ever since one rainy day they dumped and I mean dumped a $400.00 chair out in my driveway.
Chair is unreturnable and unusable.
When I called all I got was a pile of BS, took it up as high as possible and still uncaring BS.
That $400 has cost them thousands in lost business.

I remember one day not so long ago I was home after work waiting for some new stuff to show up; UPS guy drives up gets out all while talking on his phone, tucks my packages under his arm while still yacking away and walks up to my door, drops them from under his arm and turns and walks off all without breaking stride or interrupting his conversation; now that takes skill!

Unfortunately employees that don't care probably aren't localized in one company :( (Once years ago I had a job as a package-hurler at FedEx, and they take great pride in abusing your package as much as possible also)

Even so, I've had fewer packages smashed up via FedEx than UPS. Heck, one package I got had a head-sized hole through it  good thing it was a fender for a car, and the hole was right in the wheel well...

10 years or so ago, I used to work for UPS as a truck unloader. Trust me, there's a reason I cursed the heavens when Newegg changed their shipping contract.

I loved the egg when they actually had low prices and when you could return all cpus and hdds for a refund.

Sorry to see your HP get trashed. I have seen what UPS and FedEx do to there boxes and I'll stick with UPS.

If a package matters to you and you want a better chance of receiving it intact, use Express or Expedited. Sending a package with Ground service is asking for it to get crushed (trust me, I know).
