Besides Corsair which memory of late has been giving maximum overclock on an NF7-S
>230FSB dual channel?. Where can I buy guarranteed best chip thereof. My Corsair PC3200 is gone for RMA and I need to replace it with some kickass ram to last into the A64 era. There seems to be so many variations, Mushkin, Buffalo, or OCZ blah blah :confused:

KHX3200 = BH5
KHX3200A = CH5/BH5
KHX 3500 = BH5 = 242MHz 2-2-2-11 vdimm 3.23v

Corsair PC2700 V1.1 =Samsung TCB0 = 240MHz 2.5-3-3-11 vdimm 2.94v
Corsair PC2700 V1.3 =Samsung TCB3 = 234MHz 2.5-4-4-11 vdimm 2.99v

KVR333CL2.5 = Winbond BH-6 = 260MHz 2-2-2-11 vdimm 3.2v

KVR333/400 = Hynix D43 = 240MHz 2.5-4-4-11

^ Forgot ;)

Mushkin PC3200/3500 Level II = BH5

242 FSB x 10 1:1 @2/2/2/11 benchable see sig. 240 FSB x 10 1:1 same timings 58mins prime, but my cpu is a crap o/c'er so i reckon its that as it crapped out between 50~60mins at 200 x 12.

3.28v vdimm :toast:

And its (KHX = Kingston Hyper X):

KHX3200/K = BH5
KHX3200A = CH5

right? :stick:

Thats owesome, with single channel I can get even my old pc3200 256MB to 240FSB!!! Dual channel at that speed will be cool.
It seems Mushkin level II from new egg has been getting good thumbs up lately as it is guarranteed to have winbond BH-5 chips on it.
$163 for 2X256mb pair..cheaper anywhere else ??

The Kingston is better IMO. They can do better timings at lower volts.:D

Get any BH-5 you can get your hands on. To bad KHX3200/256 has runned out everywhere.

I bought my TwinMOS PC3200 with Winbond BH-5 almost a year ago. But back then BH-5 was produced and was on many sticks so it was really cheap.
Probably easiest to get used ones now. That people bought a year ago for half the price they sell them for now. lol.
Anyway they do 230 2-2-2-5 easy, but my board top out at 229MHz with 2V vdd, really bad for being a A1.

tictac
What can does Samsung TCB0, TCB3, Hynix D43 do in 2-2-2-5?

What? Not even under 200?

My Samsung PC3200 DTL 256MB Singlesided can bench (Super PI 1M) in 202MHz 2-2-2-5 3.5V, prime (Only ran 10H then i stoped the test though) in 198 2-3-2-6 3.4V.
I'm sure does much be able to run 200 2-2-2-5 with high voltage (If they like voltage)

This is a point of confusion for me. My understanding is this:

Tic was refering to was the SPD, defualt timings. You can change it if BIOS allows. In some OC situations, only SPD timings will work. Thats why BH-5 is prefered. Also, since BH-5 is built to tighter specs it can ultimately OC farther.

Is this right?

Well i don't care what SPD is programmed to and my BH-5 are programmed to cas 2.5 and many others are that too. That shouldn't really matter on an nForce2 or i875p (SPD programmed to 2-2-2-6 can have some problem with this chipset though) system, on some A64 systems where the bioses doesn't work so good i can be usefull. Otherwise i don't see a point.
However Winbond BH-5 is not manufactured for 2-2-2-5, it's not intended to run 2-2-2-5. But some (OCZ, Mushkin 2-4-4-8 on LII PC3500 strange, Kingston, Corsair) run them at it anyway.
When manufactures like TwinMOS, A-data and so on had BH-5 there run there timings in specs, SPD programmed to cas 2.5 at 200MHz.

i have pc3200 performance series rev2 from ocz and i can go from 200mhz to 215 at stock voltage and timings of 2-2-2-x. im not sure what kind of ram it is, but its pretty good at ocing, eventually i might take a look under the heat spreaders, and also do a vmod for the memory

i just ran tests last night. pc3200 oczram at 2-2-2-6 running 240fsb at 2.9 volts on the memory, nothing is modded, i think i could og higher but i have an abit mobo and the 1.7chipset is most likely holding me back.

Sorry to say NewEgg is out of the dual channel sets Mushkin 256's LV2's and the rest is going fast. Might be still be able to get individual ram and put it together. Try places like Ebay but they know they can get a premium for it. Might still get it at excalipurpc.com but everyone is flocking to their site also. There is memory4less but very expensive.
