I just picked up a Corsair 800D to play around with and mod a bit. I am going to toss a 3 fan rad up top and was thinking of using the Thermochill TA 120.3.

I currently have a PA 120.2 and I have been pretty pleased with it.

Does anyone have any experience with the newer TA series. or do you have a better recommendation? XSPC maybe?

I also want to pick up a new pump and some of the compression fittings for this build. I have been using 7/16in. ID X 5/8in. OD prymoflex lrt for tubing. Is that still acceptable.

For pump I really like the look of the: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/culad5bimabl.html

My current build has the following parts for cooling:

ThermoChill PA120.2 rad, D5 Pump, Swiftech Apogee-XT Extreme Block, Swiftech Micro Rev2 Reservoir; 2 Yate Loon Red LED Mediums 120mm on the rad.

Any help/suggestions would be great. I will not be breaking down the current computer/water setup, as I will be moving it to my son's room.

P.S.

This will be based around a 5970 and a 2600k build. Water to the cpu only at the moment.

techtonicpc: Imho performance wise TA (http://skinneelabs.com/ta120-3/) is step back from PA. Yeah, XSPC, Coolgate, TFC Xchangers might be better choice. Or for budget builds - Swiftech MCRs.

Alright, I was starting to leans towards the XSPC, so i guess I will go that direction. Thanks for the input.

Any input on tube/fitting size?

I use that size tubing; works perfectly for me. I think there was a review the other day saying tubing sizes wont affect performance as much as you would think, so it should be down to personal preference. Also how available parts are for that sizing.
You can get almost anything for 7/16 x 5/8 except for 90 deg comps, and quick disconnects. (as far as I'm aware.)

Yea, I had actually been using 1/2" barbs with the 7/16" ID tubing for a nice secure fit. I am now going to switch to compression fittings, so I am guessing I no longer need to do 1/2" barbs and just do 7/16" with those? Havn't ever held one in my hand to see how they actually fit onto the tube?

Yip. You cant mismatch tubing and fitting sizes with comp. fittings, it just wont work. You dont need to either, in my opinion compression fittings are way easier and secure than normal barbs.
The tubing fits over the nozzle, then the cap screws onto the thread - as it screws further down it grips and compresses the tubing, holding it in place.

You'll know what to do as soon as you get them.

I always loved the extra safety of slightly smaller tubing over larger barbs and 7/16" tubing over 1/2" barbs is great (and what I'm still using - I don't like the compressions)...

But, if you're going to switch to compressions, then they need to actually fit correctly. With compressions you want to have the tubing be the actual size (both ID and OD) that the compression fitting calls for.

Thanks guys, for the info. Really appreciate the help.

Any major changes in cpu block in the last 8 months? I am pretty happy with my Apogee XT, especially the way it mounts so easily, but is there something else I should consider? I am also thinking about a different res style this time, although I have no complaints with the swiftech micro.

XT is still a top block. No need to change. You can go to Skinneelabs.com and see all the latest tested stuff.

Curious if anyone knows where I can find one of those fittings with the LED in it for a Reservoir.

Not sure what it is called or where I can find one in the US.

I have a new LUND Pom Plex Reservoir but I would like to light it up!

Thanks
