Pardon the Homer(ish) question, from a NON-Techno/Audiophile. (ie Dumbo)

Could a PCI-e card, either be constructed, (or a duff one modified) to act in effect, simply as a PCI-e to Jackplug adaptor, enabling an external Amplifier & Speakers, (say off an old stacking Hi-Fi system) to be utilised ?
Maybe sparing the purchase of a top end dedicated soundcard such as the Xonar Xsence or the X-Fi Fatality Platinum ?

Could one of you Tekkies tell me if it could be done ?

Cheers :explode:

From my understanding he ask if its possible to hook up and avr directly to the pcie slot. And in that case, no, it wont work :)

From my understanding you would still need a number of components and would still be cheaper and easier to get a proper sound card, they not that expensive are they :S.
