Cebit 2011 press release

Several new exciting products to be previewed

As is custom for Lian Li, the company will preview several new models that will be released during the months after the show. Visitors will have the opportunity to obtain a special preview of models like the PC-A05FN, PC-V600F, PC-C60, PC-P80N, and PC-Z60,PC-Z70. Lian Li regularly creates specially designed cases, a tradition that started with the PC-777 of 2005, followed by the PC-888 of 2009 and the PC-T1 "Spider" of 2009. The specially designed case for 2011 is the snail-shaped "Cowry" PC-U6 case, a chassis based on Lian Li's popular PC-777 anniversary case from 2005.

It seems they already updated their website with new cases, just they are not aviable via menu, but with correct page index, it is possible to find. Several cases I managed to find (PC-A05FN, PC-C60, PC-Z70 still missing):

Not impressed... those feet look gross, not much of an improvement to warrant selling your old case, and still no 100% out the box liquid cooling, about time i see triple rad support for mid and matx cases instead of having to butcher (PC-A05).

And that's a couple of days after I bought PC-P80! Hasn't even been delivered yet.
Gah, LOL. Improved cable management, USB3, bottom mounted PSU. Just what I wanted... Looks damn nice...

I do like this new armorsuit as well. If they released X black version, would be ideal.
Now you can make nice and clean water cooling setup similar to the A77 case, i would go for shorter 280 rad on top, and 3x140 on front (still having few 5,25 bays free), no mods and cutting at all. Top looks better than old one, with that extended panel, seems like good improvement.

Looks like they're finally adding some cable management, about time. Armoursuit is still fugly though :(

The snail is back!

It's only mATX!

As long as companies produce mATX boards that OC like crazy, I'd still consider using the snail. WCing would be a pita though, lol.

Yeah, snail compared to old one is entirely different case, tiny one, might be confusing.
Btw, anyone with good script could search for other missing models? check product index from 1 to 1000, should do the trick (if they are already added). The ones posted, I've managed to find randomly.

It seems I was wrong about A05FN, judging by this pic:

http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/9466/25189107.jpg

it is PC-85, so still no idea how new A05 looks.

As for black Armorsuit price tag.. well, it should be similar to old red PC-80R version imo. It will be easily one of most expensive cases of Lian Li.

Hmm, the new armoursuit looks very nice. I quite like it and if I did purchase it, I'd definately go watercooling as I don't really want to cut holes on the base of current p80 in order to fit another rad. Plenty of food for thought.

Looks like they put usb ports at the front of the case, and judging by the side they are placed (and power/reset(, they could have changed mobo orientation for regular not flipped one (but here I'm just guessing).

PC-Z70?? Where is the Z70, I only see Z60.

I really like the Z60, especially if you can mount a 360 radiator on the side where it looks like those fans are.

The Z70, the Z60 "only" holds 6 HDDs:

Back of Z60:

it also seems to be 2x140mm, atleast according to Lian Li's specs.

Is it just me, or are lianli cases looking cheaper and cheaper every year?...not to mention being less useful every year.

http://lian-li.com/v2/tw/product/upload/image/p80n/p80n-04.jpg

Such a huge case, yet no room for a 360 rad at the top. A single 360 rad would never do the job for what this case is intended for (tri/quad-sli), they need to know that some watercoolers don't want to always use external solutions.
The older pc-a77 was great because you could fit a 360 or even a quad in the front AND the top, but they wrecked that one too with the new a77f.

I agree. I wonder if Lian Li is anti watercooling. An 800D similar design with LL quality and I would be all over it.

280 rad is almost as good as 360 (2,7 of 360 surface, and it has better area efficiency in case, since it is wider, but not too long (doesn't take any 5,25 bays).
Imo you put a 280 on top, 280 front, you have many free 5,25 slots, and 280+280 pretty much scales to huge ultimate 560 rads that is capable of cooling everything.
Only people that can be really upset, are these who put psu on top (old tower lian li frame), and then 420 radiator on floor. But this was overkill no matter what.

Church

aerial: it's wrong to think in just rad area terms when comparing them. You have to also remember worse 140mm fan selection vs 120mm ones, +at least with HWLabs rads one also gets too big width of 140mm rads (they don't fit in 5.25 bay enclosure. IIRC it's not as bad for other vendor 140mm rads though.)

aerial
03-19-2011, 10:10 AM
There is plenty of fan 140mm options these days (and there is still more), especially if you consider very low speeds on thick rads, that imo this is no longer relevant. More time passes since 140mm rads are on market, there is more and more fan options, people shouldn't repeat this argument for years, just because there is no 140mm gentle typhoon. There is also more than one radiator manufacturer, and hwlabs are neither best nor most efficient ones (but they are probably most expensive ones).
I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't use 120mm radiator now, becayse in most of the cases they are not as efficient when in comes to optimal usage of case capacity. But that is just me.

Also i would desagree that obsidian (700/800) case is such great "watercooling design" case. Really, it is vastly overrated. It offers pretty much only 3x120 radiator mount on top, out of box (while there are other cases that already did that, and were cheaper and aluminium like ATCS 840) and has black interior by default (that is big factor for most users, since it greatly limits amount of possible alternatives). But in terms of water cooling design, really, they could do much better, such as bottom compartment, and psu mount, case doesn't offer any additional radiator mount with no modding (you can fit there small 2x120 at most). If they made higher compartment, would be option for another 4x120 rad, or 420, and another shorter one next to psu. Most of users just keep there a psu and nothing else, gigantic part of case capacity is wasted. Even top doesnt offer more than 360 rad mount, while there is space for it (modding required). It is surprising how little corsair had to do, to release, considered by really many people, an "ultimate" watercooling case.

Any updates on the new Lian-Li cases? I still find the X2000/X500 (if there was a non windowed version) and the B25 series my favourites though.

I really like the Lian-Li cases with sheer faces, no holes or anything, like the Z60, but I don't like the vented sides. One thing I like about the B25 series is the ability to remove the HD cage completely as I would like to put the drives in the optical slots to open up air flow.

I know, right? Even if it was too slim for a 120mm (which I doubt it is), they could have at least gone for a 92mm or 80mm.
