Looking for a 4096x2304 16:9 monitor...
I'm just curious to know if there's any out yet and the prices.

If the prices are right I might wanna pick one up, I got to used to 1080p and it looks low res these days...

Plus it's a new standered, certain anime's and stuff's are coming out in that res now...

To be onest, would prefer 240hz at that res lol, but 70hz would be good enough.
23in minimal.
Would prefer something around 27in...

Regardless I'm curious to know if ANY monitor is out there at that res yet.
When I look it up on google all I find is youtube fmt news :\.

I have no issues playing 4k videos back at full frame rate though, it seems alot of peeps have issues with that.

1. planar they have 4MP - 12MP monitors
2. eizo medical displays
3. barco
4. nec displays

expect prices to go beyond 1k$

No, someone is confused. 4096x2304 are called "4k". That resolution (4096x2304) has 94384128 pixel. Far far above 4MP.

Hmmm....

Found out sony is the one pushing it for the most part for the theater mostly.

Here's a monitor:
http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-monitors/cat-visualsimulmonitors/product-SRML560/

And 2 projectors:
http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-projectors/cat-ultrahires/product-SRXT105/
http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-projectors/cat-ultrahires/product-SRXT110/

All of the above are actually in a sub standered called 3.8k.
Supposedly the monitor above costs around $76k..., ok I can buy a house for that much, or in this market, 3 or more houses...

Darn I was hoping it was a little closer to being an actual consumer product.
Might be another 10 years :(.

I'll have to get my butt to the theaters sometime if they end up having one of those projectors around here...
So I can check it out.

I did notice at least one of the projectors went to 120hz/60fps... :D, ooooh I'de like...
"High-purity LEDs" ???, never heard of those before, heard of oleds with there lower lifetime but better viewing angles...

hate to burst your bubble, but 4K's are crap for anything but movie watching since with the latest version of display port you are limited to 52hz (assuming 2560x1600 @ 120hz is max bw of current displayport version).

Fake/interpolated frames are crap.

I'd rather get a 3840x1440 or so display.

I kinda figuered so.
To get 12/10 bit working you'de need display port and you've stated the limits on that.

Along time ago ibm had some sort of high res monitor that needed 2x dvi connectors to get working at it's max res.
Not sure if the display's I posted above support anything like that.
Plus they mention swapping out board's for diff port types :\.

3072x1728 192dpi 200%
2304x1296 144dpi 150%
1920x1080 120dpi 125%
1536x864 96dpi 100%
1280x720 80dpi ?%
1152x648 72dpi 75%

The % thing is from windows font size thingy, win2k3 and xp.
I used it's % size and dpi to get an idea of what to use as a dpi multiplier.
The 200% looks like a potential winner, 16:9's.

I guess I might as well be looking at diff aspect ratio's.
Shame that 1:1 isn't a standered display type, it's a standered but you never see monitors, granted it would be an ugly square shape but hey...

I guess what I really need to do is keep an eye out for 27in 16:9 1080p 120hz displays, when they get down to around $200 or less I should try to snatch one.
I haven't paid attention to them in 2 years.
I know that most tv's use scan rate doubling to fake the 120hz+ rating...

1440 is too narrow. 1600 would be pushing it w/ that kind of width.

If you're using a monitor that's above 2560x1600, the video card requirements would be astounding.

Has anyone even annoynced support past 30" monitor res for any card?

QuadHD has been available for sometime even before http://news.creativecow.net/story/863641 but I would not consider it a true 4k monitor.
