So I've ordered an EK FC580, so far so good.

Ordered a reference design Palit GTX 580, so far so good.

What turned up was a new design GTX580 with a displayport port on it!

The cooler has two fans and the clocks are meant to be 783Mhz instead of 772Mhz (big jump I know!).

Here's the question:

Return the GTX580 and find a proper "reference" board, or return the FC580 and wait for one to be made for the GTX580 with displayport (is it a 3Gb one with only half the ram)?

Edit: or will the FC580 with this board design?

Your opinions please! :)

If you want to be sure that the EK block will fit return the Palit card for a reference board, not sure if the PCB layout has been changed at all.

EVGA offers an outstanding warranty and they don't mind if the blocks been water cooled as long as you return it with the original heat sink installed.

Pretty sure that's a non-reference board. You can check http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/home to see what will fit. If you look at the 570 GTX by palit with 2 fans, it has no full cover blocks for it.

That's what I thought.

No matter, I've pulled the trigger on a reference eVGA GTX 580, so I'll send the Palit back.

Thanks
