More than 2.25v VGPU

Hi all.

I finally got around to modding my card.

I have redone the voltmod so we can get higher VGPU..

Rather than swap the resistor R224, swap the one above that is listed as R222 with a 200ohm pot set to 120ohm (for stock voltage)

Then drop that resistance for more VGPU.. carefull as it moves quite fast even on a 15 turn cermet..

Im currently running at 2.35v.. although more should be possible for you phase change guys...

If you turn the pot too far you may burn out the card...so be carefull

Now I want to see a 10K score...

My own card dosent seem to like GPU clocking much... im stuck around 300.. although the memory almost runs at 250 with no heatsinks or mods... so im not out of the race just yet...

Do you think we can voltages in the range of 2.5 - 3.0V.

I dont have the cooling for that sort of voltage...

With both mods in tandem.. you should get the full range from 2-3.3v...

I've put the mod on. Both Vgpu mods are on the Xabre right now

I've got the R222 @ 0 ohms and the R224 @ 1K and it's giving me 2.663V max idle and 2.657V under load.

The 3.3 line is @ 3.7V

When I increase my 3.3V to 3.76, Vgpu is going to 3.72V

I'm hoping that's enough for the 10k, if not then I'll put the 3.3V direct to the gpu.

sorry... when you say 0ohms do you mean shorted or no contact...

You should set things up as follows.

R224 around 60ohms then 222 at 100ohms.
Then reduce the value of 222 for more voltage (untill its at 50ohms or so, then alter 224)

by setting 224 so high you are limiting the max voltage you can get..

BUT do not drop the resistance on both too 0ohms (avoid going too low on either) or you may kill the card...

By 0 ohms I mean I shorted it.

I'll try that tonight what you just posted.

Got my Vgpu upto 2.803V by increasing the 3.3V to 3.8V, but I didn't last long. First there were some vertical strips on my screen and short after that my screen turned blank, monitor giving the message "Signal out of Sync", so I think the 3.8 was a little bit to much for the card or it couldn't handle the 2.8V.

Before that happend I increased the R222 resistance to 100 ohms, since I was thinking it wasn't a good idea to short the circuit.

But I'm still hoping I can revive the card somehow. If anybody has got ideas about this please let me know.

You may have killed the ram...

The effects on VDDQ and Vref from such a high 3.3v line would be uncertain.... and possibly lethal....

How to fix it.... im not sure tbh...

try it at stock voltages first...
