So, i'm searching for a new i7 to replace my 930...

I have these ones that follow:

W3540 3845B010
W3540 3846B017
i7 920 3849A765
W3520 ... 3939C203

So, the objective is to get the highest 24/7 overclock under water ( 420 + 280 GTX's with 140mm PK-3 fans in push/pull ).

Other specs: X58A-UD7, Hyperx 2000 CL8.

I have some doubts in the W3540 since both batches are good but i did read somewhere that 3846B was even better than 3845B, but as far as results go, i don't see that way... any ideas?

For the i7 920... well... i only know from the seller that it does 4Ghz at 1.175vcore.
For the W3520 i know it does 4.2Ghz at 1.31vcore.

So any input was really welcome :)

So, i isolated my options a little bit... from all those

W3540 3845B & 3846B
i7 920 3849A

What do you think of these 3... ?
My main doubts are with the 3540's as i said.

3845B010 and 3846B017 both stand out to me. Both batches have excellent clocking chips in them. 3849A765 and the 3939C aren't really what I'd call stand out from a quick search.

See here for a whole lot of 3945B010 overclocking results (http://i4memory.com/f55/w3540-3845b010-batch-club-18874/)

Cryptik, thanks. Yeah, already check that. Talked with Eva... he said that if he recalls correctly the 3846B was a little better than the 3845B ... but i was trying to find more evidence of that... since i have both batches available until the weekend. I've seen much more benches of the 3845B than the 3846B ... there's my confusion
