Hi guys:)

Just got my A64 test bed back up and running. Set up a fresh W2k, DX8.1 and the 3.08 drivers. Guess what?? Running 2300Mhz, 10x 230, and the card at stock clocks it scored 5970 points. Overclocked to 300/260 and I end up at the same score as my DFI Infinity/XP combo....can't crack 8000 points.

I'm afraid this card has some sort of problem, there is no way even OC'd to 330Mhz I can crack 8000 points, already tried. Something isn't right.

Remember my low lobby low scores?? On the A64 it scored a high of 104fps, same as before.

Is there a possibility some of these cards are truly 200's...and possibly some have remarked 400 or 600 cores aboard?? My GPU clearly is marked as an Xabre 200. The card is undamaged and pristine. O/cing makes a difference...but I can tell you Lobby low at 200/200 is 85 FPS...104 O/C'd.

Darn frustrating indeed:)

Remember when you first installed it you had some odd things with the drivers... maybee this is to blame.

Its seems unusual for a card to just be slower than the others... although it may be possible.

Easyest way to check would be to find another competitor with an ecs card and put your card in there system and look at the score.

Have you tried an intermediate overclock, say 250/250?. I know my scores totally crap out if I clock too high, even though it complete's the whole benchmark ok. Also, the DFI link had you running AGP 2X, I don't know if that could be some of the prob?

I am using the same 3.08's downloaded not once but several times from the posted links in this section. I really have not had driver probs as others experienced early on. I ran the various different drivers and ascertained the 3.08's to be fastest.

I wouldn't mind shipping the card off to have a competitor test it, but by the time it's shipped back and forth the time limit on this competition will be over. I have 3 systems to compete with, and each needs to be fined tuned and honed(TIME). I can't even start that if the card is an underperformer to start with.

I spent 8 hours alone initially hacking the drivers after running several baseline 3DMark runs, and yes, the hacks did make a positive difference:) But I still could not cross the 8000 point plateau.

Yes, I have indeed run everything from stock clocks, to intermediate to full clocks. The scores improve in a linear fashion upwards as you raise clocks. I even left the sliders locked for grins.

I am running -25c coolant into a Swifty MCW50T with anywhere from 2.3 to 2.5v on the GPU. I can run 300Mhz at the stock 2v. Performance is progressively better with higher clocks, not worse.

It troubles me more that at stock clocks, say compared to Jeff's initial results at 200/200, I am almost 600 points off and he is 300 Mhz under my CPU clock:

A64(200x10):
200/200: 6570 me 2300Mhz A64 and 59xx @ 200/200

I've confirmed in both the SiS drivers, Sandra and Rivatuner it is running at 8x AGP.

I've run multiple clean OS installs, but it all turns out the same. This revelation of the A64 running identical to the DFI Infinity has led me to the conclusion its the card, especially in the bandwidth dependant tests.

I not only moved the sliders, I've hacked the drivers for improved performance;) These scores are with highly optimized drivers too...59xx points is terrible indeed at stock clocks compared to my friends here.

I got 6700 at stock (win2k sp2 dx8.1)

6800 with performance settings in d3d.

Id expevt win2k to give me a boost... but not that much.

This is only on NF7 200x11 2,2,2,11 interface enabled... so its no monster system.
