Hey guys,
i just received the board with the 2600K. Im having a stupid problem where i can't close the CPU socket after placing the CPU in. I have to press too hard on the latch to lock it when the CPU is in there. I know theres something wrong because the sides of the CPU are obviously effected by the pressure i put.

The CPU is in the right position.

Is there something im obviously missing?

Can you take a picture? I have the same board.

If your cpu is aligned with the two small tabs and you can slightly jiggle the cpu within the socket (you can kinda feel the pins scratch against the cpu). Then you should be fine.
The latch is supposed to push the cpu down against 1155 pins (not just hold it).

I thought mine was too, but it just takes a bit of force. More than I've had to use with previous chips

Mine took a lot of pressure as well and made a slight crunching sound as I closed the locking lever... it's fine though.

Hehe, thanks! I guess I didn't put enough force.

Now that that's delt with, here's my other problem.

I finished setting up the PC, everything is connected right and I go to turn it on and all I get is a black screen. The fans and everything turn on, 5 seconds later turn off, then turn back on forever with no beeps at all and no display.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Fixed the problem... Seems like one of the ram sticks isn't working. It runs with only one of them in.

Have you tried the stick that doesn't work on Channel A yet? I have the same issue with G.skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL. But not sure if it's the ram or the board because I can put either of the sticks on Channel A and they both work when each is put on that channel, but as soon as I try to put the second stick on channel B then the computer doesn't boot. I've tried the Mem OK and CLRTC several times but still doesn't work.

if it's like the x58's...you might try re seating your cpu....

Yeah mine took a lot of force to close the latch and it too made a loud crunching sound.

Would this also cause the second memory channel on the board not to work?
