View Full Version : Use AHCI driver... or NOT???

Soon I will be installing Win7 x64 in a few hrs on my VelocityRaptor 74GB drive.. Do I install the actual AHCI drive, or just keep the motherboard in compatibility mode (Normal IDE) Is there an actual performance difference? Thank you

ACHI will be faster, yes.

AHCI for sure...you can also plug/unplug SATA drives as necessary while the system is running.

For SSD AHCI is a given, but I'm not so sure if it's clean cut when it comes to HDD in non enterprise applications.

ACHI on hdd? I know its a must with SSDS + rapid drivers..
