Building some big tower speakers and i'm looking for a cheap amp or two..

Each tower has:

Pyramid TW57 tweeter (3" ferrofluid cooled)
2x 10" Lanzar mids (ported or infinite-baffle, undecided)
1x 21" Pyle (tapped horn/t-line hybrid design enclosure)

Amps i've looked at:

Crown XLS1000 at partsexpress but they mention it being built "lightweight" for easy transport so i'm shying away from it a bit now..
The Peavy IPR 1600 or Behringer EP2000 look the best (most power near 8 ohms) but some of the options for the Behringer dont make it look too hot for home audio use (infrasonic removal particularly).

If you are doing external active crossovers for the towers you may want to look at the DCM2004L. You could do 300w to the highs, 300w to the mids, and 600w to the 21"er. Might be too much power to the tweeter though, but a 3" tweeter might be able to handle it. The tweeter is rated for a peak of 1000w, but that might be exagerated

Can you really power those speakers with only 350w per channel @ 8 ohms? Cause thats what the EP2000 is rated at.

And dont discount something cause it is light weight. Most great amps now are very light. I have a high-end THX certified digital theater amp designed for IMAX theaters that puts out a continuous 400w per channel across the whole audio spectrum and has incredibly low THD levels (typical distortion at full rated power = 0.02%) and the thing weight in at only 21 lbs. These amps are just build using the newest technology that is a lot better than older amps you are used to seeing.

When you look through an online reseller of audio equipment and they dont sell big, name brand, proven equipment like QSC and Crest, and have companies like Yorkville and Alto as more popular products than most Crown amps, you know there is a problem there.
