Hello!

I would just like to say how much I would like to see an Abit Nforce 3 250 motherboard with Nvidias Soundstorm APU in the next few months.
ATM there is no Nforce 3 Soundstorm motherboard on the market, so there is no realtime Dolby Digital encoding on any AMD 64 board :(
I want DD 5.1 sound :D

And I want go back to Abit boards ;)

Not sure if its true or not but I read that Nvidia and Abit are no longer working toghther. Doesnt really make much sense though because the bottom line is making money and without each other they will each loose a little bit of money.

But I also can't imagine that it's true

Ok I just wanted to give you the link where I read this at.

http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/display/20040107114451.html

Like I said I dont know how much of this is BS.Maybe though this is why there isnt a Nvidia 64 or Fx51 motherboard from Abit.

I will take your word on it I just cant go to that thread seems the link you posted isnt working for me.

I suppose it all nonsense and internet rumors anyway. The one thing that I would like to see Abit build is a SiS755 board this is the only one that I have seen that has both locks "pci\agp" on it so far and since it it would come from Abit hopefully it would be a nice OCing board.

Thanks for the fix:D

Anyway I to cant wait for the new 250 to come out to see if this board has both the locks working. I believe this new motherboard will be for the the new pin 939 processor and hopefullly by then they will have the bugs worked out :)

I would like to see though a good OC board for the 754 processor the one that abit has out just doest cut the mustard and could be a lot better.

I'm also waiting for the Nforce 250 but it's not as half interesting as it would be with Soundstorm :(

nbdyspl, you were right, abit and nvidia had a little disagreement, but everything cleared up:

Lets just hope that abit's nforce3 is better than the ones that are currently out. Because I have yet to see one that has both locks pci\agp on it and none of them have soundstorm built in yet which i know is what you would like to see.

Yeah a pci lock would be nice. I think it is a must for a good motherboard / chipset today! I hate these HD corruptions!
And I hope that Abit will not use a crappy Silicon Image S-ATA controller!! I got only trouble with it!
In combination with my video card (Radeon 9800SE@XT) I get lockups sometimes, it doesn't like much more than 33MHz PCI clock and the linux drivers are crap and experimental.
So I bought a promise S-ATA card and got no problems anymore!
My Linux is compiled for my 64 Bit cpu and it really flyyys :-D
I only need 64Bit radeon drivers for Linux :(.

But AFAIK there will be no soundstorm on the new nforce 250 motherboards :(

You folks should really consider moving the conversation. Off topic posts lessen the chance of attention to someone who truly needs info or support..
