I am trying to install directx9, and when i try to do so it starts copying files in the installer windows, and then it says that the software isnt digitally signed by microsoft (you pos you f-ing made it) and it cancles the install. i have tried using different files to install (ie distributable dx9) and installing to safe mode. System restored to the day i reformatted and still no go. id really like to not have to reformat...suggestions?

It sounds like you need to back off on the security settings in windows. Try going into the control panel, Internet options, security tab, and going through your settings and relaxing them abit. If you feel that you're too vulnerable, you can always reset them afterwards. I run with my settings set fairly low, and rely on my firewalls to keep me protected. I've not been hacked or caught a virus yet (knocks on wood) :)
