the really great thing about IDF is they take online questions LIVE!! you can type it in and they will answer it, and even mention your name, so its always good if you can catch them live. if not, they stream video for months afterward!
they answered four questions from me last year on nehalem in different sessions. really cool.
i already made a schedule for my 'agenda' :)

I really wanted to go to IDF this year but once again I've been foiled by school. These things need to be scheduled like a month earlier.

I would have liked to go as well, especially it's in San Francisco this year. But I hope you have money on your bank account because it is far from being cheap!
1400$ for the meeting now!

Anyway, it is probably very interesting indeed...

Money isn't really the issue. When you're press Intel is a little more respectful. Its just the timing is always bad. :(

RESS006 Power-Efficient 4G
hah... so now they call it 4g because they killed wimax? or are they still supporting wimax but slowly hide it more and more behind LTE? :p:

and yeah... a single idf per year is really too bad...
i dont get what intel is doing idf wise lately...

Wimax is 4g. Sprint/Clearwire

LTE is everyone else's 4g.

It doesn't really matter for Intel if Wimax or LTE wins. They couldn't care less.

Their focus is to have broadband to every place on this planet on a multitude of devices.. They take care about the rest of the problem, having their CPUs in those devices.

But they do another IDF in China
I'd rather see AMD Developer Forum than another IDF :P

im just pointing out that intel always pimped wimax, they never said 4g, never... they always said wimax... now they cut resources for wimax big time andaquired the wireless LTE division of infinion... and suddenly there is no mention of wimax anymore and its 4g... ;)
i think the rumors are true and wimax is mostly dead in the future...

why not both? :D
90% of idf is dead boring... all the marketing shows for the press, god...
but the behind the scenes is nice, getting to know the people behind the tech and designs...
