Whats best Tri-Monitor Setup for Games , Graphics Rendering ? (3D?120Hz?LED?)

Looking for a good three monitor setup. Size does matter :) I prefer to be 28" and over only.

3x LG W3000H for 30" 2560x1600's.

If you stick to 1920x1080 then might as well go for TV's and go 40"+.. just make sure you get a panel that can disable the scaler effectively (Toshiba XV648 for example).

Yes, I am prepared to spend a good chunk of change for high quality monitors.

Once I finish my research projects sometime in 2011, Il be selling everything which will all still be under manufacturer warranty at that time. But yes, I do not mind spending over $1k per monitor.

Yeah I looked at TVs, but what about these:

just wondering, how close are you gonna be to this beast? If you get a TV, you'll need to take a few steps further back than you are used to for a monitor, and in the end, all you get is a bigger picture, not more screen real estate. That's why I refuse to get a 24+" widescreen when my 1600x1200 4:3 gives around the same, if not more actual pixel and screen area. That being said, if all you want is to see the games and renders bigger, a TV is def. the best way to go.

If cost isn't an issue, I would go for the 3x 30" but you're gonna need a beast to run games on those. Also, when you say you plan to sell this stuff, do you mean the setup? A TV doesn't hold value too well with new tech being what it is and a "revolutionary technology" around every corner.... a couple of lightly used 30"ers might fetch a tidy sum resale though.

Take lots of pictures and show them here so we can drool.....

Cost is not an issue and I will probably go for 3 x 30" Monitors since most TVs lack in picture quality compared to a monitor... or rather to be specific, the color contrast is far less on a TV compared to a Monitor.

I could do 3 TVs but again the picture will look better on monitors instead I think

EDIT: Would I be able to use LED Backlight monitors? They use less electricity I think and the color contrast on some of them is insane as high as 10million:1 (Asus MS228H or MS238H) while most others are over 50k:1 (samsung)

The LED monitors are using better tech.? less power also? and 120Hz is an option I think?

Main concern is the power, 130watts is too much for a single 30" imo, and the LED monitors I think use less than 10watts per monitor right?

looks nice but he is using ATI card and he said he is using only 1 ATI card with 3 x 30" monitors!!!!

Must be insane with 4 video cards.....

Cant beat the Dell 3008WFP - hands down the best 30" incher out there. The HP is just as good but its not as aesthetically pleasing IMHO.

No it's not LED - but after shopping for new monitors myself there just dont seem to be any advantages to going the LED route.

And re: 3D monitors - isnt the largest one 24"?

well according to the claims made by nvidia and most of the 3D monitor manufacturers also using LED the fps will be greater than a traditional monitor. 120 v 60.

Power is also very low on these... a fraction of what traditional monitors use.

I think it all depends what tech you go for: Edge lit or localized backlighting. I wouldnt think these would apply to you anyway as none of them seem to do 27/30" panels.
I guess then you could go for an LED tv but running 1920 x 1080 on a 30" panel is not nice!

Well I decided to hold off on 30" monitors until the technology catches up with these larger screens.

For now I got the 3 x Acer GD235HZ bid 23.6" 1920X1080 Monitor 3D Ready with the NVIDIA 3D Vision Glasses.

Im not sure about that... I think I may even need 3 recievers also.. but I only bought 1.
