Well I got the thermal pads on the EK FC5850 but realized until after I was done that I used the wrong thickness thermal pads on the RAM and Mosfet area. There was no indication in the instructions whatsoever about which thickness to use on both, only about the size needed to cover the areas:confused: I am now out of thermal pads and have to order some more, I seen online where the FC5850 RAM calls for .5mm and mosfets are all 1mm thick pads. Can I leave the 1mm pads I have on the RAM now and just add .5mm to the mosfets area? I would think it would have no effect, if anything the block mounted was a good at least .5mm away from the RAM the way it was without any pads. Or would it be best to remove all the thermal pads I have on and just replace them for .5mm for RAM and 1mm for Mosfet area?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Thermal padding is cheap. Just purchase the correct sizes for the correct areas. I wouldn't be a fan of adding (stacking) more thermal interface material if I didn't have to.
