I got a lot of errors on this project yesterday. But as far as I can tell it had a few that where send before and after those that validated just fine.
Any idea why this would happen. I have no access to my cruncher at the moment, but I saw something in the messages about results files absent.(I will post the exact message when I get home.)
All the WU's with errors where stopped within a minute after starting.

HPF2 is known to throw errors .. it is not you.
The error rate for the project is much less than it use to be there are still some oddball WUs.
This has typically been related to running a 64bit OS itself and nothing we can do about it.
Because they error in a couple of seconds I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts chocking
you internet connection or you get a very large number of them all in the same day
because then the WCG servers might think you have abad machine and make you wait to
pull more WUs.

Ditto that.
HPF2 is error prone. I got a handful of errors on HPF2 in the last couple of days.

I got 3 pages of errors, all from single machine (other machines are computing that with no issue).

The frequent errors were another reason to not run this sub-project for me, so I got my badge and dropped it.

Thanks. I will see how the rest of the WU's get done and decide if I quit HPF2 for now. 14 errors so far. :(

I didn't quit the project simply because there's no harm that comes from the errors. If they error out, they error out instantly and your machine just goes on to the next WU. I've never had more than a handful of errors per machine and certainly never "pages" of errors on a single machine (maybe I need an SR-2 :P)

Just check out the "run time" column in the Result Status section of the site and filter by the errored out HPF2 WUs. It's always extremely low, meaning you lose nothing in terms of wasted cycles.

Unfortunately HPF2 is a dog with fleas and the smart thing is to stay away from it.
So many other good progects to put your machines on that work as designed.
Best of Luck!

I agree about the annoyance of the error rate of this project, most people are seeing errors as soon as the WU starts, I seem to be the unlucky one who is seeing errors after hours of CPU time:

A big shame really as this is one of the projects I respect the most :(

Well, that's true. In case of my 3 pages of errors ALL of them were gone after 0.01h.

The errors I got were mostly after n hours of run time. Like I though though, it was only one reason I dropped it.

I find it strange that in the 3 months I've been crunching I've had a single error running HPF2 and that one error was on the lappy running Vista x64. All the other machines are running Win7 x64, so I wonder why others get the errors and I haven't yet. A couple of weeks ago I ran nothing but HPF2 WU's for a few days and still no errors?
Dang I hope this post doesn't jinx me :)

A bunch of people reported the same thing, from memory (getting no errors at all). I don't remember what the main predicator was, but I was getting maybe 20% of units erroring out at most.
