Fixing to order one and i had 3 in mind., Just wondering if anyone has either of the 3 and can post some temps. As skinneelabs gpu water blocks page is down.

* EKWaterblocks Nickel Acetal waterblock for AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5870 Series - EK-FC5870
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ekniacwafora.html

* HEATKILLER® GPU-X² for 5850 and 5870 ATI cards
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/hegp58.html

And now heatkiller seems to have a gpu-x³ block out now also.

* Watercool HEATKILLER® GPU-X³ 58X0 for ATI Reference Design 5850/5870 - Water Block

I'm running a heatkiller 3.0 cu block. So if the ek is the better choice then i will have to sale my heatkiller 3.0 cu and get a matching ek cpu block then.

The EK fullcover keeps my 5870 GPU under 40c at all times. It is overclocked to 1.24vcore 1044MHz GPU and 1300MHz memory. The vregs get up to the high 50's under hours of gaming. If you do choose the EK, consider getting the backplate as it makes installation a snap (oh and it looks cool too).

Well then i guess i need to sale the heatkiller 3.0 cu block then so i can match it all up if i got that way. I will have to check out the back plate.

i think u should go with whatever u think was easier to mount and install.

since u wont get any oc potential difference from either, and its straight aesthetics + ease of install.

Can someone please post a link to the EK back-plate for the 5870? I ordered the Nickel version this block. Thanks.

Well i know the heatkiller 3.0 was a breeze to mount. But that means nothing on the gpu side. As that is why i was asking about both. As if i went the EK way, then i would like to match the cpu block also.

Just trying to figure out the best way. As i like to keep the same matching stuff. But then again you really will notbe able to see the block on the gpu though. I know skinneelabs did a ek review on the gpu, hopefully the site will come back up later on.
