DirecTV box lockup solution

For those that woke up this morning to boxes that were pretty much bricked, here is the solution posted on DBSTalk.com.

DIRECTV - DVR users experiencing major issues this morning. More here.

Fix for DIRECTV DVR lockups:

* Press Red Button under access card door (lower right on front of DVR)
* Wait for receiver to get back to Live TV
* Press Red Button again to cause second restart (within 30 minutes of first)
* Wait for receiver to get back to Live TV
* Problem should now be fixed


Don't bother calling DTV as they are so backed up currently that most are being disconnected before speaking to a rep.

Hmm, I did notice that when I woke up the receiver was on but I didn't go check why. I bet this is it, thanks!

Edit: Hmm, wasn't locked up. I guess the update turned it on but I got lucky to not get locked up.
