So I'm putting together an home-theater solution for the 'rents. Requirements for the primary screen (and the only one for now) is to be at least 48" diagonal and have excellent picture quality for the price. So it's gotta be a 1080P panel at least. Being 3D compatible (especially Auto-3D) would be a big plus but isn't a requirement.

"Money is no issue" sort of holds true here; we're looking at a large range of prices for a sweet-spot of quality, price, and technology. Finally, the TV will end up being wall-mounted. Optimal size would be 48"-52", though a bit bigger would be welcome.

By the way, for you computer junkies out there...
The HTPC's specs will (probably) be as follows...

Pentium E2140
1x2GB DDR2 800
Foxconn R40-G4 barebone (G41+ICH7 board, Channel Well 250W PSU, flex-ATX chassis)
Radeon HD 4650
WD Caviar Black 1TB hard drive
BluRay-ROM drive
