I kind of like the idea behind this hack, it puts the mods reason for closing a thread right at the top of the thread before the first post, plus it forces the mod to leave a reason for closing it, which removes the error of forgetting to do it:

i think this one could be useful (my threads sort of thing), just within certain limits. for example having this option, but you need to actually click on something like "show my threads" instead of having them all listed in your profile. i keep searching for threads that i didn't subscribe and wrote stuff in anyway...

Joe, don't know if it's been mentioned already of not, but I'd like to see the front page news headlines listed down the side of the forums mainpage, something like over at OCforums. That's an awesome way to get more peeps aware of the articles wrote on the front page.
