Well you can get IPS LED lit monitors separately from Apple that work with PC, but they're expensive.

Buy a quality monitor? There's nothing magical about Apple that makes any monitor connected to one look better.

If you can tell us what you want to use the screen for, we may be able to help with some advice.

since you're looking at the 24" apple minimum, I'd say a Dell u2710 is in your price range, so go for that

The U2710 isn't better than the 27" iMac. It uses the same LCD panel but it uses CCFL backlighting instead of the LED backlighting of the iMac. The retail price of $1200 for the U2711 is absolutely ridiculous.

Both the 27" iMac and the U2711 use the same LG LM270WQ1 panel. Colours will be exactly the same if calibrated properly.

;4389479']Im looking for some time but i have not found even one IPS LED for pc :-/ What's to stop you from using the Apple monitor with your PC?

edit - Just seen that the mini-displayport is the only connector it comes with. That's lame.

how dose that stop you, get an ati card or a pro card that has DP. also could u use a dsub output on the computer and then use an adapter to the monitor.

Only one kind with mini-displayport

its not like there are dp to mini dp cables or mini dp to dp adapters and they are completely not pin for pin compatible. :D

Because almost none of the ATI 5-series cards followed the DisplayPort 1.2 specs correctly. Only the two newer cards they released do and work properly. The HD5970 and the HD5870 Eyefinity 6. But w/ either of those cards or a 4-series card w/ displayport it works great.
