Why in god's green earth is it when i hook two quantum drives to my rig - one as slave and one as master
only the master is seen in bios and when i boot it hangs after POST
I remove second drive and BAM!! up instantly.
what gives?
Im going to presume something isnt quite right about the jumper settings on those. I remember reading somewhere that there was a hdd that you couldnt put onto the same ide cable with another of the same make.
Im curious if this could be them?! LoL
Have you tested on seperate IDE's?

one is master one is slave...
one was my mp3 drive from my asus rig....
I understand that. Have you tried 1 on the other ide channel?
I read somewhere, and Im thinking it was quantums, that these drives just couldnt be on the same IDE cable. Something in the make just said FUBAR yea! Couldnt be done.
So, what Im asking is, have you tried moving one to the other ide channel.

I've had problems like that, but it's always been a Quantum/Western Digital thing...
And yeah, what IFMU said was the only thing you could do to fix the problems. But that was years ago, I'd think they would have those things resolved by now.
