I currently use a Vantec Tornado on my AX-7. Can anyone give me any suggestions on another fan that isn't soooooooooooooooooooooooo loud? I like the performance but I can't take it anymore. Maybe some links?

Thanks

You can use a 80mm to 92mm fan adapter that will put out equal or more CFM with less DB.

I buy my fans from Heatsinkfactory (http://heatsinkfactory.com). I have a 50 cfm 80mm Sunon on my Ax-7 now that's not too bad. They have a good selection of quality fans.

Just a suggestion but keep your current fan and get a Rheostat at Radio Shack or buy a pre wired one online

When I was testing Heatsinks I used a Delta 68cfm and I hate a loud PC so when I didnt need the fan to be running at max RPM I used a Rheo and tamed the beast to a noise level I was ok with.

If you are unsure how to wire a rheo heres a few pre made ones

PS I use a ceramic 25 watt rheo

I just purchaded an Thermaltake smart fan 2 from .heatsinkfactory.com (http://heatsinkfactory.com) to go along with my ax7. It seems to be a good fan considering its manually adjustable ( any where between 20.5 cfm @ 17 dpa and 75cfm @ 48 dba). Even at top speed i dont think this fan is relatively loud. You could adjust it to a noice level that you find tollerable

Getting a Delta 68cfm or 80cfm is probably the best solution for a variable speed fan solution and using a rheostat as SSS suggested and only using it at full speed for full speed benching and such. For overall one speed fans in the 80mm class I prefer the Sanyo Petit Ace 32 Model 109P0812A201. Very high quality and low noise for 55cfm but can be quite hard to find at times.

You may want to look at the Mechatronics 80mm fan for your AX-7
I've been very happy with it. Matter of fact I replaced all 4 of my case fans with these and run them through a PC Mods Rheobus
version 2. The specs are 53 Cfm @ 39 Dba. You can get them here: http://www.plycon.com/mech80.htm

Look into the Tt Smart Fan II. It has a controlled switch which controls the RPM and CFM. It has a very good noise : performance ratio and can go as high as 75cfm so it's a fairly good fan. It's 13.99 @ heatsinkfactory.com.
