does anyone know what the stock head unit puts out?

i just got a pair of these put in today
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882647103
General
Brand Clarion
Model SRG1321R
Type 2-way Speaker
Speaker Size 5.25"
Component
Woofer Material MIPP Cone Woofer
Specification
Peak Power 160 Watts (RMS was either 30 or 40)
Sensitivity 91 dB
Frequency Response 40 Hz - 30 kHz

They sound GREAT, especially compared to the old, worn out stock speakers, naturally i know there is just a little bit left in them. i'm just wondering if there is enough to warrant a head unit upgrade.

probably puts out 25/30... personally i would always swap out the stock head unit, cos it's the quality it's outputting the signal to the speakers which is more important really.

good speakers but crap source = crap music =) (to put it blunt lol) :p:

I know what you mean, but when you are replacing 14-15 year old speakers the difference is NIGHT AND DAY.

edit: ive already got the wiring harness adapter from when i had subs in the car but have sold everyting else.

18-20w RMS per channel at most, same as most available HU's on the market today.
