Ghost Recon: Future Soldier trailer = Awesomeness

Anyone is a fan of the Ghost Recon series? I'm a big fan of GRAW and Rainbox Six Vegas myself, GRAW is hard as hell though even though I think it has the one of the best and most realistic squad-based tactical shooters.
Anyway this trailer totally blows me away, gotto keep an eye on this. :up:

I LOL'd. In all seriousness, I hope we have graphics like that in game in 5 to 10 years. Look at what games looked like 10 years ago. We'll make even larger leaps in the next 10 years. Maybe it'll happen in Ghost Recon 4: Future Soldier 2 :p:.

weird how most games coming out are military style FPS, id think so many trying to compete with each other would make it a tough market, but they just keep pumping them out.

Perhaps not that weird if you consider that:
- people who would buy such games may be overlapping with people who buy a lot of games, making it a "safer" market.
- it's easier to make games that are somewhat similar to what you've done in the past.
- many developers may like that kind of game, thus they want to make such games.
- it's typically the kind of game that is considered cool in the industry

Is it wise to grab for a piece of a crowded market? Probably not, but (like you said) they still do it

We don't judge the game based on the trailer, I just wanna show how awesome it is, there's currently no footage of gameplay yet but we'll see it soon. And as I said anyone that is a fan of the GRAW series might keep their eyes on this one, it's not just a typical run and gun shooter but it's a squad-based tactical shooter.

Just like EA released a patch to strip the DRM on BFBC2 Steam version, sure it doesn't mean totally DRM free but at least it uses Steam based DRM and I think it's better that way.

Oh, I didn't know that. How about AC2? I think even its Steam version enforces permanent Internet connection.

I know Ubisoft still has that nasty DRM on AC2 and make lot of people getting pissed but I'm sure Ubisoft will reconsider as they just started doing that to Silent Hunter 5 and AC2 but they might have to look into it when they see it could hurt their game sales. Speaking of Internet connection on Steam, I haven't play offline since I always have my connection on anyway but a friend of mine said he can still play the single campaign without turning Internet on.

Hope its good. Use to lan up GRAW2 quiet a bit with friends, with map packs and additional baddies to kill. Always a good time.
