Dan tested the 6mm base version, through observation, a friend of mine at home (Cathar on OCAU/MO.com Forums), has found the 3mm base Cyclone 5 the superior of the Maze 3. The temperature result was within 0.1C, but the maximum stable overclocks held for the Cyclone 5 was 30mhz higher over a longer period of time (The Maze 3 had no detectable temperature difference, but was unable to hold to the same CPU speed as the Cyclone at 2.15v).

Im thinking the 3mm base version, and it is easily the best block i've come across. Aside from the hefty price tag, it is easily one of the better blocks made in Aus :)

Cheers

Been using this for about 4 months now. :)

Everyone in Australia knows that this is the killer waterblock for both AMD and Intel. imo its better than the maze 3 except the maze3 has eye candy features as well as performance...:)

I have heard the 3mm base is better for the AMD rigs from Cathar, good to see you know him well. Had him around a few times checking out the system and buying some stuff from me....he is awesome for getting info from...:)

I've been waiting for Cathar to do a write up, so people dont have to register on the forums to see the results. Dan got there.

Incase you havent realised yet Andrew, i bought some Kingmax, and a SBLive DE 5.1 from you when you came around with Bruce ;)

Keep it to yourself hehe :)

I have been using the blocks all summer (USA).

I have to say that the flow rate degredation is minimal compared to the DD GF3 block (only thing I have experimented with, sorry!)

Very nice block indeed. Pair it up with a 1/2" system all the way through and you have yourself a nice cooling solution.

I give it:thumbsup:

On another note, Cathar's White Water block beats ALL the Cyclones by 5C or more... We have no data on the 'Evo' series yet but I imagine the same result...

This was the one and only waterblock I've ever used and it worked wonders. I've actually got it for sale in the trading section of this board. But, my Prometeia is due in today, and my cpu waterblock days are over ;)
