windshield washer fluid prevent corrosion?

Would windshield washer fluid prevent corrosion?

antifreeze claims "prevents corrosion" but what about washer fluid??


I had made a suggestion to use windshield washer fluid and this question was brought up.

I dont trust it to much. I had the bottle it came in about half full and the top of the cap got all moldy and the the water smelled really bad.

Use Deionized water and a bit of antifreeze. That should keep corrosion away for a long time.

i understand glycol will work what Iam trying to do is making sure Iam not giving bad advice.
