i have 80mm sunon 50cfm fans with have both a 4 pin connector and 3 pin fan monitoring connector

i want to use this fan for my cpu's Alpha 8942T heatsink

the fan is a 4.3W fan

so can I connect the fan's 3 pin rpm connector to the motherboard and connect the 4 pin connector to PSU's 4 pin power?

or do i only have to connect the 3pin rpm monitoring to the motherboard's cpu fan connector ?

Why do you want to use both connectors when you only need one, use the 3 pin connector you don,t need the 4 pin. Also Welcome to Xreme.

the 3 pin connector only has 1 yellow wire... the 4 pin connector on the fan has blue and red wires

i realised there isn't any power to the fan if i just use 3 pin connector..

Then yes use both, plug 3 pin into #1 fan plug on mobo so you can monitor rpm. Use 4 pin for power.
