I have 2 EVGA Co-op 295's in SLI. I have precision installed and it shows all 4 gpus in the monitoring section. When I launch a game (MW2, ETW, Cryostasis, BBC2, Crysis, L4d 1&2) the gpu temps on 1 & 2 rise, the clocks all show going up, but I never show usage on gpu's 3 & 4 and the temps never come up. It does show memory usage on gpu's 3 & 4, but no gpu usage. I'm trying to verify if it is working. Anyone know if the software is misreading, or does quad sli not work. I haven't yet pulled a card to see if there is a performance difference. Also, the driver does show its in SLI mode. Thanks for the help.

Have you enabled SLI in the control panel?

Yep, its checked in the control panel.

What resolution are you gaming at?
Also, what is your CPU clocked at?

Sounds like you're probably CPU bound.
Is your sig up to date?

I'm gaming on a 30" monitor (2560x1600) with a core i7 920 clocked to 4.2ghz. I just can't tell if I'm using the second card. My system seems to have developed a problem. My shooter games are now crashing to desktop before I get into the level. Still does it at stock speed. Something in windows got messed up (XP 32bit). I'll probably pick up win 7 and reinstall.

Ah i think there was some issue with quad sli setups on Win XP . Its not supported or something like that , people with quad sli 9800gx2 setups had similar problems.

In Nvidia control panel does it say quad sli or just sli. I've had issues too need to uninstall drivers and use driver cleaner and reinstall.

This.

Too many issues with Quad SLI in XP so I think Nvidia dropped "official" support a long time ago (9800GX2 days).

Pretty sure you can't quad in XP period. Also Quad GPUs have issues, slow performance and hardly any support.

XP does not support quad SLI

Your problem is Windows XP

Now that you guys mention it, I do vaguely remember hearing about the problems on xp. I was already planning to move to Win7 in a few months, but I guess I'll have to move it up. I'm surprised I didn't see that mentioned when I was researching that.

Funny thing is, precision shows all 4 gpu memories used. Thanks for the replies!

Another funny thing, those of us using {4,6,8} GPUs as co-processors had to
step back from Win7 (see this thread (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=101930&view=findpost&p=565199)), and reload Xp64, which just works.

Anyone know what's going on here? Win7 quad SLI , but no quad CUDA?

Just wanted to update anyone who cares. I installed win7 64bit and now it seems to work, all gpu's being utilised. Actually more efficient than I thought it would be. Usually showing over 75% used per gpu during BBC2, ETW. It looked like it should work under xp, didn't know it wasn't supported. Appreciate the help with this! Now it seems I'm cpu limited (i7 920 @ 4.0ghz no ht). I wonder how much faster 2 470's sli'd w/980x would be. All it takes is money, right?

@ 470's won't be faster that 2 gtx 295's. I had 2 GTX 295's before and now I have GTX 480 SLI and it is definitely faster than the quad gpu setup was. I may get a 3rd card as they are getting easier to get....With a 980x I am sure it will be faster, I just can't get myself to pay 1000 for a single cpu...

I should have my cards (GTX 480's) by next week. My gtx 295's are going to be sold!!!!

2 470's wont be faster than what you have and 2 480's will just be DX 11 support.

I don't think I'll change video cards until fall/winter. Upgrade wouldn't be worth the money to me. I'm curious to see the next gen Fermis. Should be exciting!
