Trackpad Connector

I'm trying to fix an old macbook that was damaged, and deemed unfixable by the mac store, in the process of condemning the laptop the guy ripped the plug off of the little sliver of PCB on the trackpad connector. At this point I don't think I can fix it, but are there other options aside paying 20-40 dollars for a new one?

Unfortunately not really. Those tape connectors are so fragile. I've messed a few up in my day. There isn't much u can do
