(Title stolen from Angmaar's - AKA hotwaxisbad WCG thread.)

First of all, welcome to the team and thank you for any and all contributions: past, present and future. This guide is to help people new to Boinc and/or GPUGrid. Although we here at Xtreme Systems would love to have you on our team, the only thing we ask is that you crunch - doesn't matter for who. Again, thanks for joining, and :welcome:

If anything doesn't make sense, feel free to post or PM me. I'm more than happy to help!

There is a video Walk though here (http://vimeo.com/2056107)for an overview. Below will go slowly step by step.

First, make sure you have a compatible GPU
Note: this currently only works for Nvidia GPUs. They are working on expanding this, but as of yet they have not released an ATI/AMD beta.
http://koschmider.de/pics/desktop_chips.png
Full list here (http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=867&nowrap=true#7753)

Second, Update your drivers here (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us)

Make sure to select the correct series, product and OS (remember 32/64 bit!)
http://i41.tinypic.com/25phbux.png

This is what mine looks like on a GTX 260M
Version must be >195.xx (we currently recommend 196.xx)
http://i42.tinypic.com/2910v8n.png

Note: WCG BOINC client does not suport GPGPU as of currently so if you installed that first a reinstall will be necessary. If you uninstall BOINC and reinstall the new one you should NOT lose your current WUs. :up:

Next, download the BOINC client
for Windows 64-bit (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.10.36_windows_x86_64.exe)/32-bit (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.10.36_windows_intelx86.exe)
for Linux 64-bit (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.10.36_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.sh)

Some tips to maximize results (and Points):

Go to Advanced View
http://i39.tinypic.com/21b2hsi.png

In the toolbar select Advance and scroll down to Preferences (second from top)
http://i42.tinypic.com/m0fmd.png

Check Use while on batteries (Note: this DRASTICALLY reduces Battery life with GPUGrid)
Check Use computer while in use
Check Use GPU while computer is in use
Set While processor use is less than 0% (no restriction)
Make sure that Processor and CPU Time are at 100%
The amount of difference these make depends on your computer and use habits, but it can only boost results.

Thanks for joining and :welcome:

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask below.

Also, If your CPU is idle, please consider WCG. The best guide I've ever seen is here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=224817).

Thanks to MikeB12, PoppaGeek, 123bob for help on this!
Thanks to Angmaar (AKA hotwaxisbad) for his WCG guide!

If you're having trouble with errors, try updating your drivers: (Thanks slaveondope)
http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cuda_3_2_toolkit_rc.html

Note to volunteers running 8 and 9 series cards: G92 chips may not run KASHIF_HIVPR properly. If you are getting occasional errors but some units complete correctly, this is likely the issue.

Suggestion Next get boinc from boinc site where you can choose the right one for your OS

(I just joined from wcg and ran 32bit for weeks:()

Need pic of all the choices so that no-one feels left out

Good to note that there is a performance advantage with 64 bit... Does that carry over to GPUGrid?

And won't all the BOINC setups be the same after the initial click of the above links?

I'll add alot of pics too... just lemme know!

Mike - Sweet. I'm going to do a fresh install tomorrow and get all the screen shots. (I'll also add in your suggestions there)

PG - Nice video walk through... Will add.

Hoping to have this completely done by wednesday night and get everything but final touches on the Everything to know thread by thursday. Still gotta cram in school work, but I'll get it all done!

Thanks for the help and keep the comments commin!

Hotwaxisbad did something similar for WCG HERE. (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=224817)

It's pretty good. So good I ripped it off (with his permission of course) to use on the WCG team I started on TechReaction's forum.

Something like this would be a good example.

Good work. Honestly, I hadn't thought about putting up something like that here, since I joined as an add-on to my WCG effort some time ago. I was already totally up on BOINC when I joined.......Good idea! :up:

Hey guys, I'm a GPUGRID newbie and I thought I had it up and running on my 8800GT, but I'm getting a message from the server saying "Your computer has no NVIDIA GPU". I have the latest drivers (just installed them) and my GPU is clearly listed in green on their supported GPU list. Any ideas?

Sorry - I didn't give many details.

Windows XP 32-bit
I also downloaded the BOINC manager originally for WCG and added GPUGRID as a project - is that an acceptable way to do things?

Should be ok there. In the messages tab on Boinc Manager does it list the GPU? Does Boinc see it? Also what version is it?

EDIT: Ok i think I see the problem. WCG is still sending out an old version. Uninstall it and download from here. (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php)

No, get the lastest BOINC version that Poppa gave you. When you install it, DO NOT check the "Protected Application Execution" button, that's the thing that makes it go "no Nvidia GPU."

Good Luck and thanks for helping:up:

One more question: can I keep the work done on my current WCG tasks when I uninstall/reinstall BOINC or will they be gone? Not a huge deal...I just figure if I can save a 15 or 20 CPU-hours of time or so I would try.

When you uninstall and reinstall they'll still be there. :up:

TyCanadian

Awesome, thanks.

Went home at lunch and got it up and running! One thing I notice is that it looks like it may be being backed out by my WCG jobs - apparently it needs some CPU time as well. Any recommendations as to how to set up my options to get the most crunching done on both WCG and GPUGRID?

Otis11
03-18-2010, 12:15 PM
It does take some cpu time, but it doesn't significantly impact wcg... If you just leave everything how it installed itself it should be fine (unless there is already something odd going on?)

If the CPU i at 100% load and the GPUGrid WU is crunching I think you're good. :up:

TyCanadian
03-18-2010, 12:22 PM
Once again I didn't really provide any details and expected you guys to be psychic :).

I actually set the CPU usage for BOINC to 100% since right now I'm not doing anything else on my PC and I figure that will enable me to contribute the most. So rather than the default 60-70%, it's set to 100% and all 4 cores are enabled. Would that back out the GPU task or will it take priority over the WCG stuff and grab 0.2 CPUs (or whatever it asked for) to ensure my GPU has enough work to do?

I guess what I'm trying to avoid is a GPU that's idle most of the time due to my silly settings causing there to be no free CPU time.

Thanks again for all the help - I appreciate it.

Otis11
03-18-2010, 01:58 PM
The GPU task will steal the CPU for the time it needs... Should be fine unless there's something you notice out of the norm.

BTW :welcome:

Also, I believe the OP is done... If you see anything to fix/add please let me know!

TyCanadian
03-18-2010, 02:12 PM
That's good then, I think it should be running properly. I'll check the progress when I get home and hopefully I can happily contribute for the team without needing to bug you guys anymore :).

Thanks for the warm and helpful welcome!

so how do i install multiple GPU's on one mobo to crunch two separate threads? so far, i just plugged in the second GPU and nothing happened :lol:. win7 just installed its own drivers and i just let it. i'm afraid if i DL the correct driver for it and install, it might install over the other video card's drivers. is it possible to have 2 separate drivers on the same mobo?

What does boinc manager tell you at startup messages? does it recognize you have a second board at all?
Last week I moved my 285 to the same system as my 295 and once I plugged both six pins in correctly (sigh) it worked fine.
Why do you need different drivers ... oh ... you have 1 nvidia and 1 ati?

WhiteFireDragon
04-28-2010, 08:45 AM
well it's one gt 420 and one 9500gt. BOINC does not even recognize the 9500gt. i did figure out that they use the same nvidia driver correct?

Gah. i JUST realized... why are my gpus only running at around 60-75% usage and not 100?

Otis11
09-09-2010, 06:11 PM
It's with how the GPU usage is measured and how GPUGrid is programmed. The only way to make it significantly change is to change OSs - although different WUs will take different amounts.

Basically, it's nothing to worry about unless you're running a dedicated cruncher - then I believe XP is the answer (preferably 64 bit for CPU calculations)

First of all, :welcome: to the team!

And I believe you're going to have to reinstall BOINC. You have to uncheck the protected application box on the 4th installation window. That's my best guess at the problem.

Let me know if I need to go back to thinking. :up:

Yann_H
10-28-2010, 11:27 PM
Thanks for your reply.

But I confused!?
It was ask to check this "protected application box" while installing BOINC For WCG.

Will this work if I reinstall and uncheck This For GPUGrid?

lkiller123
10-29-2010, 07:10 PM
Yes, you will need to uncheck it if you want to run GPUGrid.

When you are performing the re-installation, make sure you have the latest BOINC version.:)

I just got a Gigabyte GTX 460 yesterday so thought it would be good to join up!

Also, what does this image mean?
Does it mean that the GPU is using 12% of one of the Cores to run? If so, I'm assuming the effect on the WCG Work units in negligible. (I think I read that somewhere)

Under BoincTask it list 9% usage of my 9800GT on a 1090t@4ghz but under resource manager its ~4%.
The .12 doesnt really have anything to do with cpu usage I believe/more the task.project, check your resource monitor for usage.

Otis11

I don't know how it relates exactly to CPU usage... but you'd have to crunch the numbers to actually notice any difference.

None of your graphs or overall stats are going to change noticeably for WCG.

Otis, you might want to put this link (http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cuda_3_2_toolkit_rc.html) for where to get the drivers.
Its the ones WFO ran all week on 9600GSO's and 8800GT's with success and the ones GPUGRID links you to for setting up GRID.
Just a thought, might get some older cards up and running.

Almost a month in and I have to report that G92 chips will not run KASHIF_HIVPR projects.
Ive errored out on every single one with the 9800GT and just caught the connection today.
All other WU's so far complete and validate just fine so, I'll abort the KASHIF_HIVPR projects now until I get another card.

Thought it could be useful info for the GPUGRID SuperComputerWeek to get some older cards on for the event and get the most out of them.:up:

First of all - Welcome to the team :welcome:

First thing I notice is this:

15.2.2011. 21:10:10 don't use GPU while active

So your Task is going to keep starting and stopping every time you get off and back on your computer... If you go to the advanced view, Toolbar->advanced->preferences->processor usage and click the "use GPU while in use" option.

Next thing that stands out:

15.2.2011. 21:13:19 GPUGRID Message from server: Fermi-class GPU not supported by cuda2.2

To keep receiving workunits you need to update to CUDA3.1 drivers (256. or newer)

So I think you need to update your drivers...

Nothing else jumps out at me... try those and post back your results. Also, what is your computer doing? Sometimes symptoms are easier to diagnose than log reports. :up:

Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately I failed to state this explicitly. Sorry for the inconvenience. :(

I would encourage you however to join collatz or milkyway if you're interested in contributing with your ATI or AMD GPU. :up:

It has now been updated.

Hi guys just joined just know following the steps wondering if their is a way to use both GPUs I got 2 480gtx in SLI and when am running it, it only uses 1 GPU... also does this program shows any development or a nice graphic look like when u run F@H.. with all the proteins moving around? that'll be nice...

Is your machine 100% dedicated? If so, there's some tweaks for maximum output. If it's on/off/multipurpose, default settings are cool. In any case, thanks for signing up!

Nice! Is that per day for the GTX280 in your sig? What settings ? Long WUs? Clocks on the 280? Are you in a cool clime? Moar info pls!

OK yeah, I'm idle on this project right now...but that don't mean I'm not hungry for some info on the new guy

IMO you've chosen the most relevant BOINC-based GPU project available today. Not dissing the chess/galaxies/primes/etc guys, but this is the project that naturally flows out of WCG (IMO)...cure diseases!

i'm running the card on stock atm
Gpu 700 mhz
Gpu mem 1150 mhz
Gpu shader 1400 mhz
1024 MB GDDR3

and for some reason gpu-z says fan speed 40%... but its watercooled LOL so no fan at all :P
Never OCed a GPU before... last time i tryed (4 years ago) on a AGP card...i fried the card :P

i'm fixxing a second gtx 280 so i'll put them in SLI, is it better for crunching to put it in SLI or just 2 videocards?

Hi ya there FaYT - leave it as a second stand alone card ... don't SLI.
By changing your GPUGrid preferences to only get the "Long" tasks ... they get better points and also a better quick return multiplier which will up your scores quite a bit :up:

I'll be honest, I have not read this entire thread.

Having trouble getting work (new account).

Must I tick the tick box "allow all users on this computer to control BOINC" when installing BOINC???

This is the only item I deviated from in the first post's instructions.

*bump* Must I tick the tick box "allow all users on this computer to control BOINC" when installing BOINC in order to get GPUGRID to work correctly in boinc with WCG?

No, I do not believe it has to be checked - the only requirement on that the "Protected application Execution" box is not checked. :up:

Anyone know how to fix this?

I've never had that error before... try a manual update of the project?

That's when I get the error, at manual update.:shrug:

I'm an idiot....should have looked here myself in the first place. The computer has not yet had a gpugrid ID assigned yet. This is probably the problem. However, I have no clue how to fix it.:D See event log.

Have you tried to detach from GPUGrid and then attach again?

There is no need to disable networking when the computer is in use (unless you are uploading and downloading huge amounts of data).

Make sure you have Leave Applications in Memory (LAIM) selected. - Won't influencing attaching to GPUGrid, but will help when you are attached and with WCG's CEP2 tasks.

and yes it could be Firewall related - "it might be useful to create a firewall exception or turn off the antivirus package while trying to attach."

Please refer to the most recent log here. This is immediately after a detach/re-attach, manual project update, I unticked the box dealing with not running while in use so it will run when I'm using the computer. I have to tick this again though, at some point, this is my work computer that I use to do work. I'm unaware of seperate disable networking while in use, I thought it disabled boinc in general (calculations and networking) while the comp. is in use. I ticked the leave apps. in memory box. I have no control over the firewall....yet. That is controlled by the network administrator. I'm working on that though....sorta'.

Did you install Boinc as a service?
GPUGrid cannot work if Boinc is installed as a service.
If so (see first post in this thread), close Boinc, uninstall Boinc and reinstall making sure to not select run as a service. Don't use the screen saver either.

Originally, boinc was installed as a service.

Before ever trying to start grid, I uninstalled boinc. Then reinstalled, not as a service. I've never used the screensaver.

Maybe I should have boinc not get any new tasks, let it finish the current ones, and do a "clean" install? Deleting all traces of the current client? I probably shouldn't change the name of the pc though.:shrug:

Thanks.

Might be worth a go; I know it does not say Running as a daemon, but perhaps there is some legacy setting left over from the first Boinc installation (maybe one of WCG's Boinc versions, in which running as a daemon is default). If that's the case then you would need to remove all traces of Boinc. Can you remember what version was last installed and from where you got it? This thread might help,
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,31466_offset,0#331233

The only alternatives I can think of that might explain this are, you are using the wrong address (should be http://www.gpugrid.net), Firewall settings, Antivirus settings, Proxy server, or perhaps your IP is blocklisted or your router is restricting access to some of the Internet.

Have you tried any cc_config settings to elucidate the problem?

The last install was boinc 6.12.34 x64. I am unsure what version I originally installed. Maybe one or two versions ago. Got if from the Berkeley site.

When you say "using the wrong address", what do you mean? Wrong url to initiate the account? It is embedded in boinc. Should I type it in manually instead of relying on the gui?

It is possible that the router is blocking communication. Some websites are blocked here. I can navigate to gpugrid.net though. Antivirus is set to only scan incoming files/minimal intrusion....but still a possible problem.

I have not created a cc_config on this particular machine. Had to do it to a different box that is running an ati card. Any suggestions on what to do with cc_config on this box?

I'll try running out current jobs and doing a clean install first.

Thanks.

Got if from the Berkeley site.
Might not have been the issue then, and if you can't remember the original instal version it's a bit of a sticker anyway

Thought the opposite, you manually inputted the address. If you got it directly from Boinc Manager the address is correct.

Yes, either could be preventing you getting a GPUGrid ID

Suggest you look here (http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=2123) for how to create a cc_config.xml file and try adding the following,
<cc_config>
<options>
<zero_debts>1</zero_debts>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
<http_transfer_timeout>900</http_transfer_timeout>
<http_1_0>1</http_1_0>
</options>
<log_flags>
<work_fetch_debug>1</work_fetch_debug>
<http_debug>1</http_debug>
</log_flags>
</cc_config>

Do you have local administrative rights?
You would also need to have write access to the Boinc folder on that hard drive,
"D:\Software\Another System Folder\Another Program Data\BOINC"

my87csx481
10-19-2011, 01:39 PM
Yes, local administrator (using my domain user log in, I have local administrator rights. I also have a non-domain/local user account with administrator rights.) So, I do have write access. I'm the one that created the *alternate* directories.

I'll have to create the .xml tomorrow....too late now.

Thanks man.

Ok. I tried another fresh install. I deleted all the registry entries with "boinc" character string in them. Deleted all explorer items with "boinc" character string in them....after uninstalling boinc.

Re-installed. Tried to attach to gpugrid, and it did. Got the same 403 error.

I added the cc_config.xml as posted and still no love. Here is the log after a fresh re-boot and manual update:

I think you have a firewall, antivirus suite, or proxy, blocking communications, or perhaps just the allocation of an ID, but I will ask in the GPUGrid forum about the 403 Forbidden and 403 Error messages.

If you only have the Windows Firewall on your Win7 system you can add Boinc to the Firewall as follows,
Start, Control Panel,
System and Security,
Allow a program through Windows Firewall,
Allow another program,
select Boinc Manager, click add and OK.

Another possibility is that your IP address is blocked.

Concentrating on what you can do:
Double check you can write to both disks, and try the Boinc installation again as administrator, no need to finish tasks or delete any Boinc files. Just right click on the Installation and run as administrator.

No windows firewall. Controlled by the domain/network/router.

Thanks for your help.

Did you try attaching to Einstein?

my87csx481

I've never set up an account with that before.

I'll give it a shot and see if boinc attaches.

EDIT: I attached to Einstein@home with no trouble at all. BOINC is running E@H tasks as I type this.

Well at least you are now making a contribution to a Boinc project with your GPU.
The fact that you can attach to another GPU project narrows the possibilities down a bit. It might still be the case that some sort of random corruption occurred during the account setup (ID assignment), but it's clearly not a general GPU project attachment issue, it's specific to GPUGrid. It might be the case that when you were trying to attach your antivirus suite kicked in and blocked something. If I knew you IP address I could ask the scientists if it's being blocked.
Einstein is based in the US (Milwaukee), while GPUGrid is in Spain (Barca). So it's possible that your server/router is preventing access to IP addresses from Spain.

I'm batting 000 right now.

#1.) ATI FireStream 9370 isn't even recognized by GPU CAPS Viewer
#2.) I'm using Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Standard x86_64
#3.) It appears that the latest BOINC client doesn't recognize the latest OpenCL drivers for the FireStream (11.7) or the SDK (2.x)

Stick with one of the 6.12 versions (I'm running 6.12.34 which was the last "stable" release) as the 6.13 are the start of a complete re-write and have had many probems, especially in the GPU areas.

In the newer versions of Boinc Manager (6.12.x) the message are nw in the "Event Log" wich can be found as the last item on the "Advanced" menu.

Please keep in mind that if you are only connected to GPUGrid I think you will still get this message as they do not yet support ATI cards.

While BOINC Manager should recognize FireStream dirvers it is p[ossible that it does not but that's just speulation on my part.

Is there somewhere an updated compatibility chart ? The link at gpugrid's page is blocked.

The chart in the first post is the most up to date they have, but there's also this by skgiven:

My opinion, listed by performance in each row, but also based on running cost. Some common (non oem) cards.

Highly Recommended:
Geforce GTX 590, 580, 570, 480, 560 Ti (448), 470, 465
Tesla* C2050/C2070 (Workstation), M2050/M2070, S2050 (Data Center)
Quadro Desktop* Quadro 6000, 5000, 4000, 2000, 2000D

Recommended:
Geforce GTX 295, 280, 275, 560Ti, 260-216 (55nm), 460, 550Ti, Tesla10, Tesla20, 460SE, GTS450, Quadro 600, 480M (CC2.0)*, Quadro Mobile* 5010M, 5000, 4000, 3000, 2000

Note on the GT240. This card presently works on most setups, but it does not perform as well with the more recent 6.14 and 6.15 apps. It is expected that CC1.1 and CC1.2 cards (such as the GT240) will no longer be usable whenever a CUDA 4.1 app is introduced. The GT240 has therefore been moved off the recommended list. Ditto for other CC1.2 cards such as the GT340.

The GT240 was a good card for the earlier 6.05 and 6.12 apps. These were replaced with the 6.13 app and then the 6.14 and 6.15 apps because Fermi cards would not work on the earlier apps. Apps tend to be upgraded to introduce support for new cards and improve performance for high end cards. The project can only support 2 apps.

*The Tesla and Quadro cards are very expensive compared to the GeForce cards, so these are only really applicable to business users.
Any mobile cards are recommended rather than highly recommended because they could cause heat issues with the notebook - it's up to you to determine if you want to use them or not. Only CC2.0 cards are Highly Recommended.

The Highly Recommended cards are most suitable for the long tasks. Other cards will also run them, but you should reconsider your system usage and Boinc cache settings.
Non-recommended cards should not be used with long tasks.

Will the Quadro do better then a normal card???

Will the Quadro do better then a normal card???

No, Quadros have the advantage of more VRAM and better double precision, but since this particular application is single precision and designed to fit in the RAM on consumer cards, these benefits are moot.

As far as we can tell, next to nothing. It's well within the variation caused by the different WCG projects themselves. :up:

Unless you're running something crazy like 4+ GPUs per mobo, I'd be shocked if you could notice the difference in performance.

Might let someone else chime in and confirm, but I ran 2 GTX 260s on a 920 with no noticeable difference... and a single 470 on a 2600k- same thing.

Third chime .... GPUGrid does a good job of processing on the GPU and leaving your CPU for WCG :up:

Did you install Boinc as a service? If so, it will not recognise any gpu's with W7.

This.

Make sure when you install you uncheck the box "Protected application execution"

thanks. The supercomuting week is focusing on World Community Grid. You can find out more info in that forum on here, but we do appreciate your crunching here!

damit I have no idea how I got over here. I'll stay here till the 1st - 8th and do the World Community Grid, then come back after the 8th.

OK Snow Crash, here I am. Thank you for the invite. I am currently working with the Pre-Release 7.0.58. Is that a problem? The GPUGrid.net showed Download and install the recommended BOINC client (6.12.34) as recommended but not required.

Since the imaged procedural Post above is a few years old, I've got a few questions.

I am currently supporting WCG. Am I suppose to reinstall BOINC over my current release so that I can Add Project rather than replace WCG with GPUCrid.net or is there a way of adding a Project without reinstalling the software.

I am migrating to 7770 GPUs. Is that a problem? I just looked at http://www.gpugrid.net/ and saw where they support both NV and ATI. One question answered. :yepp:

As I'm sure you know, WCG has a web page the provides a Team with a weekly Point and Result listing.
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamMemberDetail.do?sort=points&teamId=TW5XW7PWT1&pageNum=1&numRecordsPerPage=100
Does GPUGrid.net have the same thing?

I assume the only configuration thing I need to do is modify the app_config.xml file.
This is basically my current configuration...

<app_config>
<app>
<name>hcc1</name>
<gpu_versions>
<max_concurrent>4</max_concurrent>
<gpu_usage>0.50</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.50</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

What do I use in place of the hcc1 or do they have multiple Projects running GPU tasks?
If there are multiple projects I can GPU crunch, is there a list I can study?
A URL would be nice. :D

Well, that about all I can think of off the top of my head.

Again, thanks for the invite to GPUGRID.

Thanks for the assist all you fellow wizards. :up:

1. GPUGrid's science projects only run on NVidia, at one point they started mining bit coins to help fund the research, I'm not sure they are even doing that nay more.
2. The BOINC client version you have now is fine.
3. Go to http://www.gpugrid.net/
3.1 Create your account
3.2 if you are running 660Ti or higher go to your GPU Grid preferences and select ACEMD Long runs and unselect the others
3.3 Join XtremeSystems team

4. No need to re-install BOINC
4.1 Open BOINC Manager and from the Tools menu select Add project or account manager
4.2 Select add project, select GPUGrid and follow the wizard

5. I don't think you will need to update your app_config file at all
6. BOINC will divide you GPU time between WCG and GPUGrid based on the "resource share" you set for each project (in project preferences)
7. GPUGrid is way more demanding on your GPU than HCC so I would suggest turning down your OC until you start to get a feel for temps and faults.

- I'll be brining some cards back here when WCG HCC finishes (only so much electricity in the house)

good luck and enjoy crunching :up:

From my most recent research at http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=3319#29081

An app_config.xml file could/should look like this...

<app_config>
<app>
<name>acemdbeta</name>
<max_concurrent>9999</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.001</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>acemdlong</name>
<max_concurrent>9999</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.001</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>acemd2</name>
<max_concurrent>9999</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.001</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<app>
<name>acemdshort</name>
<max_concurrent>9999</max_concurrent>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.001</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

Specifically, at least I now know how the <name> need to be modify.

Can anyone answer my question... WCG has a web page that provides a Team with a weekly Point and Result listing.
https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamMemberDetail.do?sort=points&teamId=TW5XW7PWT1&pageNum=1&numRecordsPerPage=100
Does GPUGrid.net have the same/similar thing for it's teams?

GPUGrid would not accept my computer. Must be my GPUs.

There is no need to app_config at GPUGrid.
What cards are you running?

GPUGrid stats have team member totals and PPD average.
Most of us use Boinc Stats http://boincstats.com/en
and/ or FreeDC (but iis down for the moment)
