that kinda defeats the purpose of paying extra for an air optimized card, an original reference card will clock the best

Which reference card have the best electrical components?

I thought that the custom pcb would be better than the reference one

the custom pcbs remove the voltera pwm and thats the greatest pwm part that u can get, but it runs hot and is not exactly air cooling friendly. im not sure what cards are still reference, his, diamond and power color tend to stay reference

ek might beable to help u with what brands have non reference so u can avoid them

Well, in EK's CoolingConfigurator (http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1), they only give the Sapphire and PowerColor as supported 5850 cards. I'd assume there are more cards that are supported, because most standard cards (not black-edition or Vapor) used the reference pcb. However, I think these 2 brands are listed because they've been tested by EK.
