It wont let me defrage my computer avery one knows that you have to do the scan disc before ur defragment and my problem is that when i try to do the scan disc it keeps going over and onveer again, after 15 times a windows pops up says that is can do the scan disk. Can any of u guys help here.:help:

wrong topic this should probally be in operating systems, since there is a problem with your 98se
i had a similar problem about a year ago, problem was bad data sectors, but yea thread needs to be moved

Moved to Operating systems.
And, PGgagne turn off your screensaver, and and power management. Then try it.;)

98se is a right pain to defrag.
It may be worth looking into getting a 3rd party defragger as the stock 98 one is rubbish.
Disk keeper is a good program so I here, in fact the Win 2K/XP defragger is a light version of Disk Keeper which is why they defrag much better.
