Briefly, does it matter if I use resistors rated at say 7 or 10W when I typically hear you guys talking of resistors rated at 0.25 or 0.5W when I do voltmods? I appreciate any replies.

Typically 1/4 watt resistors should do well for most any work you do on motherboards or Vid cards. increased watt rating does nothing to the resistance, main difference is going to be physical size, greater the watt rating the larger (physically) size. over rated resistors will work same as the 1/4 watt variety.

Wattage rating is esentially the amount of power the resistor can disipate, if your working with high current loads then you may need bigger then the 1/4 watt.

Agreed - use the 1/4w
