Anyone heard anything about new monitors coming out with larger resolutions than the current max?

There's a few that have been around for a while. If you dont mind spending ~$16K

There are a few 3840*2400 displays but then you're stuck with 33Hz since that's all dual-link DVI is capable with, at that resolution.

Just go Eyefinity instead

Displayport is capable of more than 33Hz at those resolutions, especially with Displayport 1.2 coming out.

I'd rather skip the bezel lines between monitors, and I mostly play games that work best on one big screen rather than numerous small screens.

Got any links to them?

Dual 30" isn't enough? What are you looking to do with such a massive single panel? Digital sign board? Usually it's size and brightness, not resolution, that matters for digital signage.

I'm not doing digital signage, just an extreme system for personal use.

DP 1.2 can do it at 60hz.. but you'll be waiting for the 6000 series of ATi cards to do that probably. I doubt the 5870 2GB is being retooled to be 1.2 compatible but it would explain some of the time it is taking to get it out the door...
