Actually, the question is what NVDA stands for :)

Grace

nVidia is a marketing name, not an acronym.

Edit : And NVDA is their stocks shortcut name.

I'm impressed Grace :D

But then, I am more impressed that you know Menandros or Milinda. Being interested in Buddhism, I only know of him through his assoication with Nagasena. ;)

You are about to be far more impressed. :p:

Menandros is far from what you mentioned, he was an ancient Greek philosopher and poet. He also wrote enough plays for the ancient theater like the "Epitrepontes". Want more details or you are convinced?:stick:

I think we are talking about the same Menandros. He also was King Menandros, Greek pilosopher, poet, sage, and all around party down dood. :D

Then I misunderstood something when Buddhism came into the way..

Grace answered the original question "What does ATI stand for?" Then it just kind of wandered around a bit. :D It's not every day I see someone in here quote a ...what? 3rd century? poet.

Grace, Menandros became a student of Nagasena and some say he converted to Buddhism before he died. I am not familiar with his plays or his poetry. He was known for his wisdom and enlightenment. Evidently there was nothing that he could not do well.

It's not my fault that you have a small mind, sorry.

Too much information is never bad, too few manners can be though, so you should grow up sometime.

Ah, no he didn't, actually from what I know he was of the few that still believed in the 12 Olympian gods back then. Most of his writings praise the old honors and the way of divine trials, as they were before Christ in Greece and then the first springs of Roman Empire.

...matter of fact I never knew that he went to India or wherever that east.

One thing I don't get where TheDude's budda stuff comes in  :stick: If he's Greek?

TheDude
12-13-2003, 01:53 PM
I think ctgiles was kidding...hopefully.

His conversion was only rumor and the whole story about Buddism may be only myth. Nagasena may not have even been a real person, there is no proof he ever existed while there is plenty of proof that Menandros was real. It's a shame that a lot of his work did not survive over time. You have me curious about a side of him that I am ignorant of. I will try to find the time to check out some of his work. :D

That's Jeff Bridges in scenes from the movie "The Big Lebowski".
The guys at work gave me the nick, so I started using it on the net. I do resemble him somewhat, or did when my hair was longer than it is now. It's one of my all time favorite movies so I thought I would use it on the forums. If you haven't seen it, check it out. You will either love it or hate it. :D

I know you were. And my toes are just fine, actually people say that I got nice leggs. But as you can guess, they usually find out sooner or later how bloody aggressive I am. Nevertheless, let me teach you of another thing.

Way off topic so don't spring such topics.

And I never said it is impossible, I said it can't be completely stable.

GeekGoddess,

Very interesting info. It's funny that Grace and I came here on 2 different paths. She and I are talking about the same person without a doubt. I never thought I would be having such a conversation in here. That's one of the cool parts about a forum like this, you meet all kinds of people from all walks.
Thanks for filling in some blank spots for me. :D

Don't worry G_G, I won't take it as anything else than nice information. And nice information is always welcome. I did have a nice refreshment on my history lessons, no doubt. :)

That was some amount of knowledge concerning the Greek history....maybe you should be Greek!
