I just installed a GTX 275 on a computer which is running 3GB of RAM, on a 6850 Dual Core Processor.

Booted up, worked fine, installed driver from disc, restarted. Just after windows logo, screen goes blank, I hear the login noise and the screen stays blank. I booted up in safe mode with networking and rolled back the driver, booted up, went to nvidia's website and grabbed the latest one. Installed, restarted... same problem.

Any ideas?

use driver cleaner, had the same here with the MSI GTX 275... older driver helped to get it posting, then reinstalled latest nvdia driver

Okay, booting up into safemode with networking, installing driver sweeper and running. I'll tell you what happens upon bootup.

Okay, after driver sweeper, I installed display driver 195.62 and rebooted. Before I did that, I took note that when I changed my resolution from 800x600 to 1280x800, the screen went blank until it timed out and asked me if I wanted to keep that setting.

After rebooting with the 195.52 driver, I am experiencing the same problem. I'm going to reboot in safe mood, driver sweep, and put in driver 182.50. Somebody else having a similar problem said this was the latest working driver for them.

Still a blank screen with 182.50 installed. It's at this point that I'm stuck. Help! ):

U hear a noise like zzzzz?? If yes your PCB may be damaged, if its more of a hhhhhh you have lack of power/PSU problem...

RMA the card in anycase

No, I know it is neither of these problems. I just switched out the old 8800 GTS for this card and everything worked before that. The card works and the power supply is more than enough to handle it.
